  The glittery star line-up includes stars like Nick Cheung, Jessica Hester Hsuan, Jiu Kong and Zax and Tony from 5566. For the first time since 1995, the Awards will be held outside MediaCorp!
  
  To add a new twist to this year’s Star Awards, MediaCorp will stage the annual highly-anticipated awards ceremony outside Caldecott Hill – at the new St James Power Station located at Sentosa Gateway.
  
  The star-studded affair recognises the contributions of MediaCorpÂ’s performing and production talents over the last year. The last time the event was staged at an external location was in 1995, when it was held at The Harbour Pavilion.
  
  Mr Melvin Ang, managing director of MediaCorp Studios/TV Airtime Sales & Marketing, says: “Star Awards has traditionally been held at the MediaCorp TV Theatre. This year we hope to bring some novelty to the format by holding the annual mega show at an external location so that viewers will have a different and unique visual experience.”
  
  Against the glitzy yet relaxed lounge setting at St James Power Station, renowned local and regional celebrities will give away more than 30 awards that night. The current confirmed line-up of celebrity presenters include: local singer Mavis Hee; Hong Kong artistes Nick Cheung and Jessica Hester Hsuan; Taiwanese pop idols Dylan Guo Pin Chao, Zax Wang Ren Fu and Tony Sun Xie Zhi of pop group 5566; Taiwanese variety Celebrity Imitated Show hosts Jiu Kong, Tai Zhi Yuan and Guo Zi Qian; and composers Bao Xiao Song and Bao Xiao Bo. The awards ceremony will be hosted by Guo Liang and Patty Hou.
  
  Star Awards 2006 will be held at the St James Power Station on Sun 10 Dec. The Walk Of Fame will be telecast ‘live’ on Channel 8 at 6pm, and the awards ceremony ‘live’ at 7pm.
  
  The post-event show will be shown ‘live’ on Channel U at 10pm.

  I agreed that the stage was too small.
  
  The cheers from the fans seems to be very quiet.
  
  I guess the old location is better.
  
  The disappointment is that most of the new stars are one show wonders and did not win on merits.
  
  But, that is part of the game.
  
  The objective is to earn $$$ from the idiotic public.
  
  As for Huang Yi Liang, I guess he will be banned for all future star awards.
