http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EsYRQkmVifgHONG KONG : An amateur video of a grumpy middle-aged man scolding a fellow bus passenger for interrupting his phone call has become a mega mini-movie in Hong Kong.
The emotionally-charged video, which was shot on a mobile phone and posted online, has attracted more than 5 million hits.
It has also spawned spoof videos, T-shirts and even mobile-phone ring-tones.
The mobile phone video was shot on the upper deck of a bus and started off with a young man tapping a middle-aged man on the shoulder to tell him off for talking too loudly on his mobile phone.
The middle-aged man reacted angrily saying "I don't know you, you don't know me, why do you do this?"
The young man was taken aback and barely got a word in as the middle-aged man berated him publicly.
"I face pressure. You face pressure. Why do you provoke me?" continued the middle-aged man.
And just when it seemed that the pair had calmed down, the younger man took issue with his protagonist's use of profanity, triggering another stream of vulgarities from the older man.
"Hong Kong really has some very rude people, however, he's not a typical of the rest of Hong Kong people," said one Hong Kong resident.
Another said: "The young man was very sarcastic especially his retort back at the uncle. He didn't have to respond. That made him the uncle really angry."
The 'Bus Uncle Video' has inspired numerous spoofs, including a karaoke version of the video and a rap song using the middle-aged man's refrain "I face pressure, you face pressure."
Since the incident, the young man involved has also become a mini-celebrity and has been interviewed on a local radio station.
