Boy band Energy blames heavy snowfall in Dalian, China, for their no-show at the Singapore Heart Foundation's charity show, Affairs of the Heart, on Sunday night.
Why, who in their right mind would want to be stuck in freezing Beijing when they could be in sunny Singapore?
The guys had missed their flight, no thanks to a protracted trip to Beijing airport. What usually takes seven hours on the road, had stretched to some 10 hours, lamented Milk, leader of the Taiwanese quartet. The band was the most popular group in Singapore, according to Y.E.S. 93.3FM music chart's year-end tabulation.
"We really wanted to go to Singapore. It's freezing cold in Dalian, with the temperature dropping to minus-15 degrees Celsius," he told reporters over the phone from Beijing yesterday. "It was so cold, we couldn't sleep."
The guys had lingered at the airport for a few hours, before giving up hope of catching another flight to Singapore.
"We were really disappointed," Milk added.
Especially since the trip had been for a good cause - to perform at a charity show. The guys were looking forward to meeting the "kidney patients" here.
Kidney patients, at the Heart Foundation charity show? Hey, their words, not ours.
"We hope the company can rearrange another trip for us to visit the kidney patients," said Kunda, apologising profusely, sounding remorseful. "It would have been our second performance for the charity in Singapore."
Apparently, Energy still had fond memories of performing at the National Kidney Foundation's fundraiser in April and were a little confused.
But we're sure the Singapore Heart Foundation will not take the boys' blunder to heart. - TODAY

the comment reminds me of the Mariah Carey remark when she was told of the death of the King of Jordan, she lamented his death saying he gave a lot to BASKETBALL!
