I like Benitez's game formation ..... he let Gerrard roamed and owns the midfield like nobody business ....
If England built a team around Gerrard like Liverpool did , England won't be so jia-lat by now .....
Actually benitez had rather not tried to build the team around stevie instead.
He was more focused on getting the players adjusted to his style.. which seems to be working out pretty well & thats definitely a good thing to see.
Somehow today our midfield today was pretty much almost non existent , or maybe they were pulling the strings behind the scenes.
The defence seemed to be coming up more, with the likes of riise & finnan playing their part scoring & also creating goals respectively.
Finnan's precision in delivering those crosses were of undeniable importance.
The three goals were simply beautiful, with the first goal really caught me off guard.
Didn't even notice the ball went in, thought it was side netting.
Riise's goal was beyond words , also partially because the opposition's defence weren't seem to be doing their job.. think they prolly lost the mood to play well already, or rather i felt PSV was pretty half hearted in this game? concentrating on their domestic league rather it seems..
As for crouch, he has simply delighted fans with his noticable improvement whether it being ball control & also his accuracy with both his feet & headers.
Overall , a good away outing for pool, and a step away from the semi.
COME ON YOU REDS!
