Neill snubs Reds for Hammers
Lucas Neill looks set to turn his back on his 'dream move' to Liverpool in favour a securing a lucrative contract with relegation-threatened West Ham United.
It's thought that the Hammers are willing to offer the Blackburn Rovers defender a contract with wages in the region of £50,000 per-week, around £20,000 more than Liverpool have offered the Australian international.
The Reds had already agreed a deal with Blackburn that would have seen Stephen Warnock move to Ewood Park as part of the deal.
With Neill now set for Upton Park, barring a last minute u-turn, Rovers are likely to pursue their interest in Warnock and the 25-year-old is available for a fee of around £1.5m, according to the Liverpool Echo. -
heard it on the radio here this morning ... he has agreed to terms but has not signed ... he will do so once blackburn gives him the all clear & a medical is completed ... if the deal goes thru this weekend he may make his debut for the hammers next wed ... guess what? against us!
i must say i'm a little disappointed ... a move to the hammers is hardly a career move? but i guess 20k a week is a lot as compared to playing under the top club & top manager ... he can have a pay rise if he performs right? whatever it is, ah ben will get someone

At least there will be backup when momo's unavaliable.
The way i see it, our midfield seems to lack that hard tackling bite, after watching pool's matches, where the midfield always seem to get bullied by the opposition. -

Lucas Neill is too old to be a backup for Finnan. Anyway, Warnock is maturing pretty good so i guess Liverpool do not need Neill.

i can say tis Lucas Neill is kinda smart, knowing dat west ham might get relegated anyway, he will go there to earn 50,000 pounds till june, then look out for a better club.
