What went wrong?!

Last season, our defence is the strongest and we keep clean sheets like breathing air.. But this season was so poor, we kept ZERO clean sheets in all games..
Reasons I heard is cos we are more attacking minded but i seriously dont see alot of goals being scored by us.. We have yet to win any games by more than a goal..
Its a worrying situation and seriously its not looking good for us at the moment..
I believe all Liverpool fans out there feel the same...

Yeah things are certainly not looking good. Lots of areas to look at, P Crouch now only seem to remember how to play for England, the 2 amigos Garcia & Alonso looks like they are lostÂ… and the used to be ever dependable Reina now looks like not dependable anymore making the whole defence nervous.
Overall I still think its ah benÂ’s fault. Making wrong choice of players, choosing players that are not fit and not dropping non-performer like Reina. Anyway, in football everything can change in a week or twoÂ… If they beat PSV & follow that with Chelsea, everything will be forgotten right. -

The Emirates is bigger. Highbury was 101 metres long and 67 metres wide. The current playing surface is 105 metres long and 68 metres wide.
The extra length means Arsenal have already found it harder to squeeze the life out of opponents with their pressing game than they used to. Arsenal's lightning-quick counter-attacks have a few more metres to travel now too, allowing defenders a few more seconds of recovery time.
And also teams used to go to Highbury knowing they have a history of losing there but now, everythings new. No need to be afraid. -
Why all the paranopia about keeping clean sheets so long as the guys can score more than they concede.

Fatigue to blame for derby defeat - Benitez
Rafael Benitez already thinks the World Cup is too long and demanding but he is now blaming the international break for Liverpool's derby-day shocker.
The Reds are here to play PSV Eindhoven tonight in their opening Champions League group match knowing they must find their best form, and quickly, or their carefully laid plans for this campaign will go up in smoke.
Benitez aims to bank on most of his fallen heroes, but will almost certainly bring back Craig Bellamy into his starting line-up.
Bellamy was not even on the bench at Goodison Park and watched the derby at home on television.
It was Bellamy's first experience of what skipper Steven Gerrard highlighted in his recent autobiography: Benitez's treatment of players like cogs in a wheel.
But it is something the Welshman accepts as part of being at a big club.
And although the likes of the returning Jamie Carragher were being blamed for their part in the derby debacle, Benitez will send his players out tonight apportioning the blame elsewhere.
He said: 'It is more difficult to find the right team and balance with players returning from injury and from internationals.
'The question over Carragher being just back from injury was that he had trained three days with the squad.
'I was keeping an eye on him throughout those sessions - he was fine.
'I had more worries about John Arne Riise, who is now injured again. The problem was not that we used Carra, but that we used so many players coming back from international games as well. Altogether, that was a gamble.
'We had Sami Hyypia, Gerrard, Xabi Alonso, Peter Crouch, Luis Garcia, and others, all back from a very busy international period. Could we afford to leave all those players on the bench? I don't think so, not for a game like that.
'They all had very hard periods away with their countries, playing two games. They are all big names and we decided to mix things up with players who had not been away and those that had.
'With smaller clubs, it is easier. They may only have two or three internationals but we have 10, sometimes 14. It is not easy to select a side.
'We have more possibilities now with Daniel Agger and Gabriel Paletta - we must look at the options.'
He added: 'For me we must improve in defence. That means that when you are strong there you have more possession, chances and the opportunity to play on the counter-attack.
'We must become a very solid and consistent team and then, with the quality we have up front, I know we will score plenty of goals.
'PSV are strong, experienced and with an experienced manager. Our former player Jan Kromkamp will be playing, and also I remember Benfica when Ronald Koeman was there then. They beat us last season and we need to rectify that memory.
'The group is dangerous, Bordeaux and Galatasaray are both good sides. If we play like we did last season that qualification is achievable but we need to solve our problems.'
On Bellamy's absence on Saturday- he will surely lead the attack tonight alongside Dutchman Dirk Kuyt - Benitez said: 'The decision over Bellamy was clear to me. Having four good strikers, and if I leave anyone of them out then people will ask why.
'But with just 16 players, including substitutes, one of those strikers must be left out. This time it was Craig.'

Liverpool boss Rafa Benitez said his defenders were "scared" in the early exchanges of Saturday's 3-0 reverse at Everton.
Benitez said: "Early in the game they sent up one or two long balls and we were scared.
"We were too nice and you can't be too nice in games like these. You can't be scared, you have to go out there and be strong when other teams play long balls.
"You have to win the first ball and then you have to win the second ball as well. It is about attitude. It takes time to work on tactical things, but you can change your attitude in one minute if you really want to."
He added: "We haven't looked strong defensively this season but then we haven't had time to work much together because of the internationals."
lack of confidence would be a better word even though it had the same meaning but however everton players show good spirit @ thier home against liverpool and look very lively @ the early stages which in turn reward them with bags of goals -
Aurelio are not in his position for the 1st 2 goals from Everton.
That is why Hyypia have swayed to the left to stop the attack.
It is the fault of the manager in engaging a inexperienced left midfielder to be a left-back.
He pay the price for losing Riise.
He have also trying to save legs for the PSV match tonight.
It seems like that every time he try to rotate his squad, he screwed up.
Liverpool is not a team at the moment as some of the new players are not played to their position or got used to the pace of the EPL.
I dun think Liverpool football team have any confidence issue at the moment as their shot of goal at Everton is still very healthy. -

i also dunno wat went wrong wif pool. feel currently they have the best squad in epl... maybe they do not have winning desire.

1.World Cup 2006 is the main reason , players just doesn't have enough time to recuperate their energy , unless they use steriod .
2.And also the Euro 2008 Qualifier doesn't do any good to the case .
3.New players haven't gel altogether just yet , Kuyt , Bellamy , Aurelio , Paletta , etc .... they need not only need to concur the language barrier , also the communication on the pitch .
Think that's the problem for most elite club , not only Liverpool !
