5-0 to FC Mainz. Pool defence was horrendous.
They let in 3 goals in the last 10 minutes.

Watched for 60 mins, had enough already. Premonition true. Defence playing ballet again.
I hope this form does not translate to their actual season, otherwise, the team will be in big trouble.

Liverpool was definitely out of creative power during the three friendlies.
Their attack was easily contained by the Division Two opponents as they took too much time to deliver the goal.
Only Pennant, Fowler and Bellamy were showing promise.
As for all the new signings that were bought by Ah Ben pre-season, they obviously flopped.
The problem of missing midfielder surface as the midfield was MIA.
The crisis was worsen when Ah Ben was still trying rejects like Diao and Taore.
The only logical reason for their pathetic performance is that they are just saving their legs and strength for the coming CL match.
The robot is still out of order and a eye sore. -
I hope they sign some big names soon... names like Buffon Nesta or Raul... although not very possible

This is a total shocker. All the players including the keeper should get a 100,000 pounds fine each and donate them to charity for such mediocue performance.

The continuing problem of Liverpool is that they never imposed themselves as a team onto the opposition.
They are always on the backfoot themselves and thus allow their own defence to make mistakes over and over again.
The first half against Mainz was like that. Mainz had more clear-cut chances, pass the ball well and had some good running.
Liverpool, on the other hand, always try to make that long ball over the Mainz defence, which always gets intercepted.
True, this may be a friendly but the tempo was at an EPL pace. There are definitely concerns to be worried about. -

hey anyone knows this game is liverpool's worst defeat in how many years? when is the last time they got beaten by 5 goals? or more than 5 goals?
i only know they lost to chelsea 0-4 in 2001, and to coventry 1-5 in 1992. so it's the worst in at least 14 years -
