Cisse To Lyon?

Lyon chairman Jean-Michel Aulas is delighted that Liverpool striker Djibril Cisse is keen on a move to the French champions.
Newspaper reports in France claim Lyon will open talks with Liverpool in the near future about the possible transfer of the striker, who has failed to win a regular starting place under Rafa Benitez.
"When a player wants to come to Lyon, we love the fact that he declares it," Aulas told Le Progres.
Cisse has again reiterated his desire to play his football in France and would relish the opportunity to play under Lyon coach Gerard Houllier.
"I have never had the chance to work with Mr Houllier, it would be a pleasure, I respect him a lot you know," the 24-year-old added.
"He recruited me at Liverpool, not Benitez, but then he left the club."
Another Liverpool player hoping to be playing his football in France next season is midfielder Bruno Cheyrou.
The 28-year-old spent last season on loan at Bordeaux but the French club do not want to pay the €1 million (£685,000) transfer fee to sign the player permanently.
Cheyrou has one year remaining on his contract at Anfield and was hoping Bordeaux would take up the option in his loan deal to keep him at Stade Chaban-Delmas.
Meanwhile, Lyon striker Karim Benzema has agreed a contract extension with the club through to 2010. -

Cisse will be a hit in Lyon. He'll do well there.

Cisse - I salute him for being so professional thru out his time at Anfield .

If he performed well for France and become the top scorer for World Cup, Liverpool would fetch a bigger selling price.
Personally, I preferred him to stay in Anfield as we beefed up the midfield next season.
The Liverpool strikers worked too hard to contain, tackled defenders and score goals. -

Reds chief executive Rick Parry is confident of agreeing a deal with Marseille chief Pape Diouf who is believed to be on Merseyside to discuss various options.
One of those options is a loan move but Liverpool want hard cash and with Lyon also interested, Parry might just get lucky. -

in any case, it's been reported that cisse broke his leg (again) and has been ruled out of the wc. i guess his value will plunge, his move in doubt and rafa is one pissed off man.... -
Cisse out of World Cup after breaking leg
Liverpool striker Djibril Cisse has been ruled out of the World Cup after fracturing his right tibia in tonight's friendly against China in St Etienne.
Cisse collapsed in agony after colliding with China captain Zhi Zheng in the 11th minute of a match France eventually won 3-1.
He lay prone for several minutes before being carried off on a stretcher with his leg attached to a splint.
Afterwards France coach Raymond Domenech confirmed the 24-year-old would not take part in Germany.
He said: 'Cisse went straight to the hospital where he is currently being operated on. He has an open fracture of the tibia.'
Cisse has scored nine goals in 30 games for France but Domenech must now call up a replacement with Fenerbahce's Nicolas Anelka and Barcelona's Ludovic Giuly already thought to be in the frame.
Domenech added: 'We don't know the name of his replacement yet, we want to take our time in order to make the right decision.
'This is a big shock and a huge trauma for the team.'
Cisse missed the majority of the 2004-05 season with a similar injury to his left leg, sustained in game against Blackburn at Ewood Park in October 2004.
In that instance he was initially ruled out for the rest of the season but returned sooner than expected and featured in Liverpool's Champions League final win over AC Milan last year.
He had joined up with the France squad with doubt surrounding his Liverpool future, however, with Marseille reportedly pursuing a deal.
The former Auxerre forward scored in last month's FA Cup final victory over West Ham but recently criticised manager Rafael Benitez and had looked likely to leave Anfield after the World Cup.
He was linked with moves to Marseille and Tottenham throughout the season but insisted during the last transfer window that he wanted to stay with Liverpool. -

When the deal almost struck , came the leg breaking , or heart breaking news .
Heart pain to see a fabulous player to be hurt by the same injury that struck him down for almost 8 months , now another 8 months or longer to go .
LFC must anyway , come up with the money to buy a replacement anyhow during Cisse's absence .
