Liverpool to offer £9.5M for Charlton's Bent

Liverpool are ready to break the bank for Charlton Athletic striker Darren Bent.
The striker was ignored by Sven Goran Eriksson for the World Cup - he did not even make England's stand-by list.
But Kop boss Rafa Benitez has been tracking Bent, 22, since January.
And the hitman, who hit 22 goals last season after a £2.5m move from Ipswich, believes he will have to move on to boost his international ambitions.
The Sun says Benitez is ready to splash out a massive £9.5 million to take Bent to Anfield.
Hopefully he wont ne the next Heskey, 1 season wonder... -

Bent's a decent option, but I will have prefered Dirk Kuyt or David Villa.

If this is a real offer from Benitez , we can see that Benitez has a few options , but he opt for the height option , Bent has height over Deoe and Kyht , all has one common similiarity , is speed , and enormous shooting power , u all got aware ?
To balance up all options , Bent is the cheapest among three .
Kyht and Defoe are both over the 10 million mark players . -
Footballing terms , think GH and RB has a same concept , one holding centre-forward , and one waiting for knock-down type of players .
We saw a Gerald Houllier's HO HO combo , and we did have some HO Ho HO HO results of Heskey and Owen , now Liverpool will have a CB combo , Crouch & Bent !

One thing. Darren Bent is VERY DIFFERENT from CROUCH. Crouch has his own qualities. Both are tall but UNLIKE Crouch, HE IS STRONG in HEADING unlike CROUCH who waits for the ball to bounce off his head instead of attacking the ball. Darren Bent is quick too and strong. He is a potential but I dun think we should put all our hopes on him, if we buy him, we still need a proven goalscorer who has a consistent goalscoring record for nx season.

Teams can never workout successfully with two Crouchs or two Bents . -

Ah Ben have learned his lesson well.
To conquer the EPL, relying on solely spanish striker is not enough.
You have to start with some one that have PLAYED in the EPL.
So, he will not get home sick or waste time in adapting to the physical nature of the game.
As to whether he is worth the money, that would depend on how much Cisse is sold to get the money to fund the buy.
Liverpool seem to be pathetically poor when buying players considering they have one of largest fan ba$e in the world. -
