armament tech?

  i was trained in OETI as a armament turret mech when i was in the army. Turret is the moving "thing" above the tank.
  You will be trained in repairing during kinds of turrets, like SM1, 40/50 Cupola, boinix etc. Also, as a turret mech, you will also have to learn small arms... got to learn all sorts of rifles, M16, Saw, GPMG, Coax...
  Think you will meet one of your instructor, 1SG or 2SG Martin, he is my fren... help me send my regards to him..
  We attended the course together, he is a regular, and he stayed on as an instructor. Quite a nice guy... learn more from him.
  
  OETI not bad.. at least it is a stay out unit. Furthermore, it;s at ayer rajah... easy to go anywhere... Not like some camps... far away from the towns
  
  I think your course shld be abt 3-6 months..
  enjoy yourself there..
  and also, the chicken wings in the canteen is very famous..
  u must go and try..

  many people think that techs only stay in camp........they are sooo wrong.
  think of yourself as the "medic" for the tanks..

  alot of ppl think technician very eng, god damn it. yes, OETI is really shiok, but if u kana 'A' Veh technician,wait til u posted to armour units in sungei gedong then u will cry. No vocation is easy at sungei gedong.

  2&3 GSMC damn xiong. Lagi worse if you go unit.
  
  But overall, it's a good vocation, at least you learn technical stuff, i.e. fixing of stuff lor.
  
  Next time, fixing of your own stuff should be relatively easier
  
  Most technical ppl like to dabble in fixing stuff

  Sigh.All the heavy items the Heavy Arms techs and the 'A' Veh Techs have to lug..you guys deserve a cold one on the house.

  And talking about sm1 final drive being 282kg, I think forget it lar...once the vehicle down, it's gonna take a LONG time to re-haul it up...in battle, doubt u've time for it lor

  it took us 18 hours to get it going. minus 6 hours of waiting time for the part to arrive, another 3 hours of waiting to deliver the correct part, 2 hours of maggi time, and about 4 hours sleep

  no leh that time my outfield all these spare parts are with the vespa store and RMT people leh, the ones lugging it are storemen, coms techs, armorers and drivers
