it is a book that refuted much of christianity as we known today, attacking the catholic church, etc. written in a novel, been one of the best sellers.. in fact, some christians r thinking of renoucing their faith because of the book.Originally posted by laurence82:Paiseh if this is repeated post or something..

I heard a bit about it..but is this book backed up with evidence?Originally posted by gaoyue:it is a book that refuted much of christianity as we known today, attacking the catholic church, etc. written in a novel, been one of the best sellers.. in fact, some christians r thinking of renoucing their faith because of the book.
basically it claims that christianity as we know it today, is wrong, twisted and biased towards the advantage of the male gender because of a jealous paul and that jesus originally intended to hand over the building of the church to the hands of mary magdalen, not paul. but since the doctrine has been so deeply rooted in the established church, the catholic church disposed of this truth and defended their false faith feverously.
ok.. dats about it, from my understanding.. basically i juz stood in popular, read a chapter and bits here and there. hehe, so if im wrong, pls dun stone me.
It is telling you the evidence, for you to interpret.Originally posted by laurence82:I heard a bit about it..but is this book backed up with evidence?
Originally posted by Chin Eng:i read Angels n Demons too... a bit kua zhang, but still, if it really is Fiction, then it's GOOD fiction..
The general premise of the book is based on a certain amount of "fact": Opus Dei does exist, Priory of Sion is rumoured to exist etc. Dan Brown attempts to weave his interpretation of such facts into a conspiracy theory. He did make quite a few errors in his book though. Apparently the number of tiles in the Lourve is not 666 as he claimed and neither is the ratio of the queen bee to worker bees equals to the number of Pi (or something like that). The description of the security system of the Lourve is also rather presumptous at best.
This book should be read as what it's classification in the bookshop says it is:
Fiction. Nothing more nothing less. Don't loose sleep over it. Dan Brown's other books (Angels and Demons, Deception Point and Digital Fortress) are actually more ludicrous and rather disappointing.
Wait for the movie supposedly starring Russell Crowe and Kate Beckinsale.

Phi bah, not Pi.

It is logical to think that some of the cameras are fake. Perhaps the gate will really slam down if you pull off a painting.

I have Angels and Demons and Digital Fortress. Which should I read first?

Wohoo ... Kate is pretty .. but can she speak French?
If they follow the book faithfully .. wah liew .. nothing romantic until a short kissing scene at the end.
Yup, this is something right up your alley..... you'd probably enjoy it....Originally posted by stupidissmart:sounds like a book to catch for me
In the chinese translation, the part about Vittoria goes like "ni3 shang4 le ma" .. originally asking whether Langdon had climbed the Eiffel, but this dirty guy thought it was about screwing Vittoria .. lolOriginally posted by Chin Eng:In the beginning of DVC, there is a reference to a Vittoria (I think), she's in Angels and Demon.
