I disagree with what this church is doing.....What is the purpose in getting the laity to buy the albums?To fill up their own coffers or to generate revenue for the church?
End of the day,if you get sucked deeper into the mire of wrongdoing,you would be immune to it even if others were to tell you that it is wrong.Looking at their lavish lifestyles,I can't help thinking if there is a personal agenda involved.I would not even go near to this church even if you paid me.It is just too scary.
What if I refused to buy the albums or unable to give tithes due to financial difficulty and I had just been retrenched?Would they still look at me in the same way with smiling or kind faces?

You gotta check out from church to church. Some churches are not strict about it. A friend left a church due to their practice of putting up the list of names of christians not giving tithes. This is infringing on privacy, really!A loving church will not chastise or blacklist you for not contributing.

yes, the vast majority will believe it.
I was also like that in the past. The pastor by the name of Robert Solomon preached that we are to respect government for they are placed by God to run the country. Now to think of it, it is not true. In christianity , many times God and Satan are taken for granted to allow the christians to preach some make believe stories.

My fave part is... those members who are not benefiting from the money (and will themselves give) will themselves put pressure on you to give.
Eg zone supervisor will review the contributions and see who is not giving, will speak to the cell group leader. The CG leader will speak to you personally and ask if you have any financial difficulty that prevents you from giving. If you don't pick up, they might ask your friends to help speak to you.
They think there is some advantage in store for them for pressuring you: could be better contacts within the church or a reward in Heaven. The most hardcore of them will say that even if there is no rewaard, they just want to do God's works with more zeal because they love God.

*CHC structure: there are a few hundred cell groups of about 15-20 each, grouped by area of Singapore eg W123 or E345. There are adult, young adult and youth groups.
Each CG will have one cell group leader and one asst cell group leader (picked from the more regular group members and around the same age as the group.)
Every few CGL will report to the zone supervisor (if you are young adult group, he is usually older.) They will rotate their attendance between the CGs under them. They have more access to info and church records. They will attend meetings with the chuch leadership.

They will not do like the taoists and buddhists. They base on bible on 10% tithes. They will preach the sermon on obedience to God on encouraging people to give.

The bible says the love of money is the root of all evil. Money alone is not.
They need money to pay for maintainenance of church premises, pay of church staff, insurance, utility and some expenses.
The mega churches are preaching prosperity theory to get more money for greed.
Last time , my pastor said his pay is low and cannot afford a car. Not a mega prosperity preaching church.
