Roman Catholic and protestant

  I seriously cant stand those protestant preachers lurking around the streets of singapore and using oppurtunate times like tsunami to advocate the message that if you are a protestant you will be "safe", those kind of blatant bullshit.Once i met a protestant preacher near Toa payoh HDB HUB.
  
  She introduced the religon to me
  I told her i was Roman catholic
  she said that Mary is not god so why do catholics still worship her
  
  1)For god's sake we do not worship her we just pray to her!
  
  Than she said some crap blah blah blah that i will go to hell if i do not blah blah blah this and that
  
  2)If she is really such a good protestant she should be taught not to be so judgemental of others
  
  3)If she is really such a good protestant she would respect the rights and
  freedom of everyone's personal choice and will not force.
  
  This really was the pinnacle of irritation
  
  She ask me for my name and address, i told her i will not disclose my address
  ,she said she will pray that i become a protestant.Imagine that person to be a pious believer of another religon like Islam or buddhism, how insulted the person would be.
  
  I displayed a false smile and gave an excuse that i am in a rush and walked off.
  
  To conclude this, i honestly feel that if a person preaches and does not practice what he or she preaches or the moral codes of a religon, he or she is committing a more mortal sin than anyone else who is sinful.Why?
  
  1)God will think that you are a conceited person
  
  2)You are "defaming" your religon by not carrying out what you preach, people might think your religon has nothing but a mere bunch of hypocrites.
  
  Like my stupid protestant friend who always like to preach to me, saying i will go to hell if i do not believe in god.He is already committing a sin by being judgemental.
  
  Yet he still goes around causing people's life to be misreable and destroy property, he threw a lighter at a taxi sidedoor causing a slightly charred dent on the door.
  
  I think he committed a much worse sin by preaching yet being so hypocrite like.To me thats a sin.

  At least i dont preach and be judgemental thats two sins committed already and since when was i judgemental i was just relating my experiences and telling everyone who i hate and why but i did not state they will go to hell

  as opposed to people going around saying that GOD WILL CONDEMN YOU TO HELL and blah blah...

  Today i saw buddhism religon at orchard road spreading the message of peace,love and respect all those.

  What good does it do if you have so much hate within urself about other denominations? Does it reflect well on urself and ur own faith? Sure, I do not condone these people doing what you mentioned, but does having so much apprehension towards them help?

  The fact is that they should reflect about themselves first being preaching to others i might be a sinful person but at least i dont be sinful and preach and the way this people introduce their religon to other people is like salesman like that promising you alot of things

  i dunno about him, but as a catholic, i get irritated when protestants come to try to convert you, telling you things which someone told them which are blatant lies...
  
  and when you correct them, they turn all nasty on you, saying you'll go to hell and stuff like what was first stated by chronicles..
  
  oh... i've been bugged like this many times already... and sadly, one of them was from these forums and decided to leave... unrepentant...

  Huh .. this is a mistaken notion. Protestants don't play God. They just parrot whatever is written in the Bible
  
  Moreover the correct understanding, correct me if i am wrong, according to Paul in Romans is - all men sins/sinned and fall/fell short of the glory of God. And we all know how God hates sin. Let's not threaten people about hell which I think is the wrong focus. The focus should be on sin.
  
  For those interested - you don't become a sinner 'cos you sin. You sin 'cos you are a sinner.

  I remember reading an exegesis of the relevant verses by my friend. It is not about xtian cannot judge (deep word, what do you consider judging? Cathlolics also judge heretics like Marcion in the early years), but that whatever you say, God will use the same standard to judge you.

  You tell him you also believe in Christ and worship him as part of Trinity. According to John 3:16 and John 14:6, you are saved also. You ask him whether he has any problems with those verses.

  I am always intrigued by the question. Why RC say cannot be judgmental but their forefathers still judge xtians like the Nestorians, Marconites and what have you to be heretics?

  A Roman Catholic has to do with it because they keep saying Dont worship mary she is not a god, they keep having that misconception and try to use it against me whilst preaching to me.We dont worship her we just pray to her for christ sake.

  Irrelevant? Hello .. your faith views human institution in very high regard, even on par with Scripture, sorry I mean God trusted your forefathers to pass down the oral tradition.
