The defeat of the Covenant in the first Halo game was only a temporary victory, as the alien attackers have renewed their mission to wipe out all of humanity. Despite the human military force's and Master Chief's efforts, the Covenant have breeched the Earth's defenses and have left its inhabitants in a dismal situation. In the midst of desperation, players assume the role of Master Chief and lead the resistance against the Covenant to save the people of Earth from a gruesome demise. Halo 2 will feature an immense and epic single player mode, as the story picks up where it ended in the first game. In addition to the single player mode, Halo 2 will also feature a redesigned multiplayer mode. While the first game limited players to LAN connectivity, Halo 2 takes multiplayer missions online by way of Xbox Live.

Halo 2: Limited Collector's Edition (Xbox)
In celebration of the long-awaited release of the sequel to the premier Xbox shooter, Microsoft has commissioned this special edition version of Halo 2, encased in a collector's metal box and including the entire game plus a bonus DVD featuring: The Making of Halo 2 (with a behind-the-scenes look at Bungie Studios); featurettes on game design, music, animation and more; outtakes of cinematics and character goofs; art galleries of concept art and in-game imagery; commentary from the development team; and more.

Halo2 will be officailly be release on Nov 9. there will be a Launch party at Funan the IT Mall on Nov 9 (Monaday), midnight.
there will also be a roadshow at Shaw House form Nov 9 to 14, 10am to 9pm.

now that the game is finally out. anyone care to give any reviews? how was the game? does it live up to expectation or was it a disappointment?

the game was great with 14 or so levels and some of the levels u play as MC and some are Arbiter.....
Not a lot of excitement when playing though, the concept of the levels are similar as halo.
i think halo 1 is better for multiplayer. -

read in the reviews that the campaign portion is quite short and that there's a period of time when you play as an Elite and not MC, anyone fight through this portion already? how was it?
Halo CE's story was awesome, does HALO 2's measure up?

its quite short but the story is quite nice..a spoiler for u,u do get play as one of the convenent commander..as for why,find out for yourself..u get to become invisible,and access to lots of different weapons..u can try it out at the halo 2 booths outside lido at orchard.halo 2 is exclusive to the xbox..it wont probably appear on the pc again like halo cos microsoft bought it from bungie..if u are thinking of buying an xbox,there aRE lots of other gams to keep u occupied..go to the xbox section at the top of this thread to see the games..Originally posted by le cruz:has anyone finished playing the game yet?

I mean, yes it is a good game and everything but frankly there are hordes of shooting games out there and apart from increased weapon range and slightly better gameplay(than H1), there's nothing to get excited about. Or maybe I am just not a shooting game fanatic? *haha* -

I got the Halo 2 limited ed. in melbourne on lauch day. I must say that Bungie have squeezed out whatever they could from the x box. Some people may not be attracted to the story line probably because they wanted it to be more focused on the Master Chief's side. The game however switches in between the master cheif and the arbiter of the covenant. Personally, I very much welcome the alternating storyline, gives the whole game a more epic and fuller experience. Most people like to say.. oh... I dont like it because the X box graphics are dated and u can only do so much. If u do play this game, make sure you play Halo before hand... and take the game for what it is, dont compare because it simply is a genre by itself. Gameplay is straight forward, take weapons and shoot. Multiplayer always rocks and asking a group of friends over to play deathmatch is sometimes more rewarding then playing cs.
What really makes the game stand out is the atmospheric soundtrack and oh my god ive never heard such great musical scores in a game ... absolutely inspiring. So if you have an xbox u must get this. If u havent got it, u dont now what you're missing.
