  sorry i am quite ignorant bout ps2 so need to ask a few questions here...
  
  i just bought a ps2/ NTSC at sim lim for $340.
  
  The shop keeper claimed it to be dms3 mod chip. However, i cannot play original dvd movies from region 1 on my ps2 but the dms3 website states tat dms3 enables dvd playback for all regions. When i confronted the owner, he reiterated that this is true only for non original dvds.
  
  Hence, i am quite puzzled bout whether i hav been conned. Is there also any way i can check whether my mod chips belong to which type? either Messiah or DMS3 without opening my set?
