THQ develops its products for all viable game systems including the PlayStation 2 computer entertainment system from Sony Computer Entertainment, the Xbox video game system from Microsoft, Nintendo's GameCube and Game Boy Advance, personal computers as well as wireless devices. Scooby-Doo!, Sega's Sonic the Hedgehog™ , Mattel's Hot Wheels™ and others. THQ original brands include Tak and the Power of JuJu™ (co-created with Nickelodeon), Sphinx and the Cursed Mummy™ , Splashdown® Rides Gone Wild™, Red Faction® and MX .
In North America, THQ markets and distributes games directly to leading specialty retailers and mass merchandising chains. THQ's England, Germany, France, Korea and Australia offices provide a global network, delivering product to retail shelves in more than 70 countries throughout the world.
The Company's internal development expertise rivals that of every industry leader with approximately 300 programmers, artists and designers spread throughout several studios including Rainbow Studios™, Volition, Inc.®, Heavy Iron Studios®, Cranky Pants Games™, Helixe™, Pacific Coast Power & Light Co.® and THQ Australia Studios as well as a minority interest in wrestling game developer Yuke's Co., Ltd. of Japan.
THQ's wholly owned subsidiary, THQ Wireless™ is a world-leading publisher of games and entertainment for wireless devices. THQ Wireless delivers premium entertainment, based on name brands such as World Wrestling Entertainment, Major League Baseball and "The Simpsons ." THQ Wireless distributes games and entertainment through a global distribution network built upon relationships with the world's leading mobile telecommunications carriers and operators. THQ Wireless also has unique distribution solutions such as Madtap.com and its proprietary game platform server technology.
The Company enjoys a solid balance sheet including more than $187 million in cash & equivalents and zero debt as of December 31, 2003.
