  That is because 1024 X 768 resolution is for 17 inch or bigger monitors.

  lol MooKu its suppose to be 800 X 600 not 600 X 800. Otherwise your screen would be the long rectangular shaped one seen in the arcades...

  For LCDs, recommended resolutions are
  
  17" - 1280 x 1024
  15" - 1024 x 860
  14" - 860 x 600
  
  but if u r usin a notebk PC, 14" @ 1024 x 860 is fine coz i feel
  that the image quality for a low ended notebk is better than or on par with a mid-range PC. the signal received for LPs are direct digital instead of analog for PCs.

  A little correction here. The best resolution is the one you are most comfortable with.
