Yess it is workable but singet pple may have some problem though , seen the reviews in other forum . so far those who complained are the singnet users but haven heard from any starhub user yet . Perhaps you can go to gameaxis forum to read up .

Nope , cos i'm not a IT person . Untill now i still dunno how to setup an internet connection . All been done by my friends or bro . Yah is a bit lonely to play alone lor . Beside i also using singnet thinking of changing to starhub soon .

us and local are the same... except that us do not have warranty while local one has.us/local consider ntsc/uc while jap is ntsc/j... there are also euro set... pal
Anyway, only Jap I heard can modify and only some, not all... Regarding region breaking, there is something call free-loader to unlock the current sets so that it can load other region games.

Hi ppl! I recently got a Wii from US. I'd like to know what extra stuff I need to buy to make it work... Yesterday I "ge kiang" bought those kind of plug that can convert the current, but after that I heard a pop sound!!
Any1 have any idea what went wrong? I hope the main console is not damaged

I've got the wii via singnet bundle, so far no problems.
I've yet to get extra controllers and games though, AMK Hub has some good bargains of those popular game like Super Smash Brothers Brawl, bundled with 2 inferior games at 99 bucks.. typically the Smash bro will cost you maybe 79 bucks.. so it's like.. at least u pay a bit more get 2 more games.. :)
I've used my miniSD with adapter on the wii.. also no problem with the pictures, haven't try video nor music though..
I've also linked to the internet via wireless and bought wii points too.. just set the country to US in order to use the wii shop, news channel, forecast channel, etc..

Try asking ard in sim lim square for a adapter for you to play US wii in sg , After you bought it try agn to see if it works . And at the meantime , try to see whether anything happen to your plug anot . Hopefully is just the fuse blow instead of any horrible damage .

all you need is a wireless router, set the connection type to WEP and it'll work. Just like how you connect a Laptop to the Router wirelessly.. or the NDS lite to Nintendo Wifi, same method.
Internet Subscription is 8mbps.. Singnet. the Wii is still fine and working well.. but my batteries leak from my remote the other day.. think energizer too strong.. I never leave my batteries in the remote since..

what's the use of the Freeloader btw? if you guys wanna buy games, I think the Funzcenter at AMKhub very good.. they bundle games together, like maybe 1 popular 2 average for 99 bucks.

Bought 3 games there... Wanted to buy the Freeloader but didn't.. Kinda regret now...? I'm thinking if I would be able to get a pirated version of it in the market....? 10. Mario & Sonic at Olymics (quite cute and fun for family/ friends/ couple entertainment)

yeah! I saw it that time, but I mostly snatched up liao.. you can ask the person.. those 99 bundles left don't have freeloader anymore.. neither do they have the Smash bro or what..

Nope... Was thinking of purchasing games on Wii shop channel ley... Didn't really know how to set up the internet connection with Wii... It seems like more worth it to buy games on internet through Wii system right?
