The game has 3 servers : Columbus, Magellan, Da Gama.
I am currently playing in Columbus server, during weekdays, there is not much lag. As for weekends, well... stay away from crowded cities like Athens you should be fine.
For beginners, I recommend that you build a merchant ship first and take up some tasks from the Merchant Guild Master to earn some cash. Sell all your cannonballs since they take up space in your ship. Avoid pirates and thunderstorm while at the sea. Once you have some money, learn timber-felling and mining. You will be chopping tree or mining ore most of the time until you can afford to build a new ship.

Is it similar to uncharted waters ? I really like uncharted waters where your sailing experience will lvl up and your comand of ship really gets better . And you get to sail ard to buy goods from other ports and sell them in other countries . Can even be a pirate yourself and fight other ships to rob them of their goods .

ya. exactly wad u saying.
i juz started playing at da gama. time consuming game sia, the controls quite awkward and laggy. anthens is like.. whoa!
but quite fun sia.
im tired of fighting and killing liao. be merchant oso not bad experience. -

i never play or seen uncharted waters but reading ur description, its fits exactly lidat. can be pirate can be gahmen, can be merchant or adventurer exploring islands and faraway places, can buy and sell goods, can fight can negotiate to get out of trouble.Originally posted by TWE:Ito you mean this game is like uncharted waters ? -
When playing the game, you can go, system -> operation and change the mouse controls.
Character Choose Control -> Left Click
Camera Control -> Right Click
Move Control -> Left Click
It is easier for me this way, you can try this settings too.
Athens is like a marketplace full of player stalls. Thus much more laggy than other cities. However, you can buy most of the materials and equipment there. Player crafted items are usually of better quality.
To build level 2 ships, sail to Genoa. (West wing of Italy)
To build level 3 or 4 ships, sail to Algiers (Capital City of Algeria, north Africa)
Having a real atlas of the world really helps in this game.

You mean it has all the countries in the world ? At the same location ? But my pc has problem downloading the file cos its too big , my pc always hang when downloading huge files that are ard 1gb . Any place where i can get the cd rom of it ? Or perhaps can someone send me the file ? thorugh cd or direct transfer through msn ?
