PSP and XBOX advice

Hi all need some help and advice.
I personally was never interested in playing games much except the occassional ones on my PC. However, now I am getting 2 presents, preferably by next Wednesday. They have been specified as PSP and XBOX.
Due to my lagging knowledge of all these stuff and also I understand you need certain versions to play pirated games, please advise me:
1) What are the good places to browse for these stuff.
2) What are the average prices for these 2.
3) What are the things to look out for in terms of the various configurations, software etc....
I very scare to be cheated lah cos I never buy these things before haha. My budget is around $800 for both anyway. Please advise, experts!

anyway for psp i suggest that u get a value pack, then buy a 2gb sandisk memory card.
value pack for psp = 400+
psp v 1.5 = cannot play new UMD games, but can play memory stick games.
v 2.6 and above = can play new UMD games but cannot b downgrade and play memory stick games (now can downgrade le)

sony gallery u dunno? erm check out wisma atria the top floor, or bugis, jurong east IMM.
yeap u shld get a v 2.6 psp.
basically u must get a 2gb memory or 1 gb !
ok i explain how the downgrading works. First when u gotten the psp, u need to go internet and download a software.
here is how it works: when u wanna play memory stick games, it will downgrade your psp so that it can play, then after taht it will upgrade back so that u can play UMD games.
as for the software, wait until u gotten the psp then i tell u where to dl -

1.5 can play ahem games, later versions cannot, unless the later versions can be modded itself but that's rare as sony is already plugging the roots.
Latest versions can play the latest UMD original games, 1.5 cannot, unless you mod it accordingly and then it becomes another issue. Headache right?
Latest versions standard pack should set you back close to 300, latest versions value pack will set you back 300+++. 1.5 will set you back 300+++ for standard and close to 400 for value added. I'm talking about black colour ones only k.
You don't have to worry about voiding warranty because there is no warranty unless you buy it at sony gallery, but you know their pricing so thats up to you to decide.

buy standard pack..what for get a stupid value pack which consists of an extra headset and a stupid 32mb memory stick...can use for sh!t..so tk the standard pack...
