  i doubt they will be making a RPG game next since they are busy with World of Warcraft, also a RPG game. best bet is on a RTS game, hopefully starcraft 2 since they can reuse the story of starcarft: ghost, which was cancelled.

  the project was still-born. got cancelled cos the end results given by the developing company blizzard assigned to make the game wasn't up to their standards.

  well u cant ignore that Diablo is very successful so I think there are still plans for D3.

  The chaps at BlizzPlanet posted an interview with Diablo book author Richard Knaak and the interview turns up a slight hint that the next game is still on the way still.
  
  Do you think the ramifications of this book impact in the storyline of Diablo 3 the game?
  
  Knaak: This is a pure collaboration between myself and Chris/Blizzard. All that is written is passed by him and the others there. This will be canon and has adjusted earlier info. The ramifications here will be used for any future project ... and I ain't writing for a dead game.
  
  While we knew the games WAS in development last year as Blizzard employees were shown a cinematic privately, it was unkown whether the project had continued due to the success of WoW. Going by this is seems it may well be still ongoing which is great news.
