  SF II is the first fighting game for me and probably the pioneer in the fighting system which later other fighting games use it and improvise.I heard theres a really old version of fatal fury that was before SF but I have never heard much about it. Other than that theres the art of fighting 1 but I think it came after SF II if I m not wrong.

  before SF2 was the first one.. it was pretty crappy and you could only play Ken or Ryu.. it was first launched in 1987
  
  but around the same time, was Mortal Kombat.. which i preferred
