LAN Shops in Singapore...

  Trying to make a list of LAN Shops in Singapore...
  
  Here's the ones I know about:
  
  1) Genie Funland in 399 Taman Jurong (do not go to Genie Funland)
  2) Tanjong Pagar FC in 399 Taman Jurong (Mostly DOtA and Maple players)
  3) Ginza Plaza (...... never been there in a while)
  4) Bukit Timah Shopping centre (very big)

  hmm people park centre got 2...one at basment one at de top...den peace centre got...dun go peace centre their comp hang alot...and recently the new opened one at funan...3rd or sec floor... hey i wan cheap lans anyone?

  there's 1 at parklane shopping centre, 2nd floor, call Big-O cafe, used to be called Odeo Cafe. it's one of the earliest LAN shops in Singapore, opened for close to 10 years already.
  
  before CS became famous, games played there was starcraft and Quake II. remember going down there years ago to see people play diablo 2 when it was launch and the Warcraft III beta.

  Ginza plaza got 4last time, Aloha,LOL(lanlab online),speedy, and one more is some christain name.
  Now left Aloha and LOL only. the other 2 close liao. I always go to Aloha cuz it opens to 2am on weekends.

  LAN shop started multiplying in 1999 due to the success of CS. that time it was still beta 5. since it's a multiplayer game and broadband wasn't that common that time, children and teens flooded the LAN shops to play their favourite game.
  
  standard rate then was 5 dollars per hour. the most expensive i have came across is $6 per hour at the one at Suntec City. The biggest LAN shop at that time.
  
  as the years goes by, with broadband becoming more and more common, gamers switched from spending money at the LAN shops to playing in the comfort of their own house. with no one to chase them away when their time is up.

  You're probably right... But SG broadband rates are still high.... Sure, its gonna fall but the here and now, LAN Shops are still popular.... Sides, you can't play side by side with your friends at home can you? Till the time comes, I'll be supporting LAN Shops....
  
  BTW, any of you guys know about Genie Funworld? How many of them are still out there and what on earth is going on with them? Every single Genie Funworld branch I've been to, including Taman Jurong 399 branch, Gek Poh branch and the former Ginza Plaza branch, are really run downed, un-updated, over-priced yet un-maintained....

  e-station. stands at where the kids speciality area at L3 is now.

  - Hougang Plaza L3
  - Jurong Point L5
  - Eastpoint L2
  
  they had an outlet at the AMK Broadway which closed down due to renovations. dunno if they'll return.

  there's one at 600 toa payoh lor 4 second level. but i prefer playing the pool at third level.

  $43 for 1500k
  $47 for 3500k
  
  $47 for 3500k is really cheap. considering years ago we are paying the same price for a 256k.

  parklane has 5 shops. big-o, genie, odyssy, IRC, and 1 more beside odyssy. opposite parklane has 2 i forgot what name liao but the place used to be house of ong pub. peninsular plaza basement IRC cyber cafe opens 24/7 rates are slightly above average. late nite gamers can try the place out. pc running smooth. This is just 1 small part of singapore and alrdy 7 shops that i can count. i remember theres a few more ard this area but i just dun frequent them.

  i was offered by singnet BB if i continue my plan with Singnet and upgrd from 1.5k to 10Mbps plan, i'll be paying only 69.90 which is only 10 bucks more than what i pay now. so what do u think? shld i change?

  The price they offered me comes with a $200 singtel mobile voucher and some other xtras which they call premiums but i dun find them that premium to me.
  
  I'm not a notebook user cos i simply hate using it for gaming. I'm a heavy gamer so notebooks are out for me. told them to give me till this weekend to consider.

  ANYWAY LAN SHOP IS GD ONLY WHEN ALOT OF FRENS GO PLAY TOGETHER IF NOT GO THERE LL SO BORING...
  
  THE MOST EXPENSIVE IS WHEN I GO AT YR 2000-2001, NABEI PAY 4-5 DOLARS/HR, TAHAN ONLY UP TO 3 HRS..
  
  MAYBE U GUYS CAN TRY CINELEISURE AS THERE IS COMFORTABLE BUT ONLY DOWNSIDE IS VERY COLD AFTER MIDNIGHT AND THE MOUSE+KEYBOARD THERE I DUN LIKE

  Taiwan lanshop is the best. 50cents/hr n the longer u use, the cheaper. Hope I can be back in Taiwan again.
