FI-jie closed the thread in CC, so have to "shift" here.
Just like to rant something about the WCG:
Our local "premium" newspaper keep commenting on the WCG generating S$53.5 million of tourism revenue.
Don't kid me lah. Can generate S$1 million I laugh already. You think those gamers are here to shop meh?
Remember the big hoo-ha they keep creating about the International Olympics Committee hosting the announcement of the winning city here? The newspaper keep bragging will generate tens of millions of tourism revenue.
In the end leh? They mentioned a few lines of how buses catered to take them to popular shopping spots were lowly taken because most of the competiting city committees were holed up in their hotel rooms preparing for their presentation and journalists were only concerned with reporting any news.
The tens of million boast was quietly swept under the carpet. You see any hoo-ha about the impact of the IOC meeting? No, right. Kaoz, "empty" words nia.....
Again, I like to laugh about Singapore trying to get a slice of the gaming industry worth US$50b worldwide. Kaoz, their focus is only on online gaming which consist of last I heard, 15% of the entire gaming market out there. Singapore is not even poised to get 0.1% of the market there.
Who are the analysts earning big bucks talking sweet to our wonderful gahmen?
Always feel like vomitting when they keep bragging about making Singapore into a gaming hub.
You're taking us gamers for a joke.
