Actually I've been thinking about this awhile, and have some ideas for niche games...Just that I dunno how to get started.

Since they already have Grand theft auto, they should include games that depict other crimes like robbing banks, taking drugs, rioting, vandalising, etc.

i always toyed with the idea of a fantasy FPS. considering all FPS out there are all about guns, wouldn't it be cool to has one with swords, bow and arrows and spell casting?

True about the fantasy fps...
But - there are already some out there...kinda. People building mods and conversions for the games. For example, there is a Dark Magic mod for Unreal Tournament, where you use spells, mana, etc. instead of guns. I haven't played it before, but just read up on this idea.
I'm currently playing a lot of UT(99), and practicing building levels, etc. with the Unreal Editor, as so many games use the Unreal Engine, and I think it's a good place for me to start skill-wise

Make a game abt ruling a city....then must have every increasing tax...got alot of micro things like press gagging, rounding out people who stand infront of the 'whitehouse', arresting people who comment on other races etc etc...alot of micro things must take care. not forgetting choosing date on election and suing people every now and then. oso price of ciggings can oso increase etc etc etc
this will let the person play for 365 days non-stop...wooooo hooooo....imagine the programming involved....definitely more lines of code than any OS. -
I wish to see a brand new for of RPG... The type where you can choose strange vocations instead of the normal spellcasters, warriors, theifs and necromancers.

Both of these sound interesting, actually. For the city one, were u thinking of a gameplay like Caesar, Age of Empires, etc. or Sims, or something different?
As for the RPG with different class/vocations, do you have some ideas?

actually i think a game that can combined elements of RPG, RTS and FPS together is the best.

havent think of any game with these 3.
in Dungeon Keeper 1 & 2, which is RTS game, u can use the "possess" mode to control one of your monster in FPS type. Depending on wat monster u possess, u can do do melee or range atk in FPS mode.
in GTA SA, which i feel it's kinda mix of RPG and FPS. it's not very RPG,but since it deal with developing ur charater(not in terms of lvl up and gain abilities like most RPGs, but u can develop skills in weapons, build muscles etc.), i feel that it's something near RPG, where u can go to FPS mode to shoot too. -

another example is the baldur gates series where they turn turn-based-RPG combat into real time combat. -

first, u need a whole group of ppl.
u need time, these ppl need to spare out lot of time to work on it
u need a place(with the equiments required), for the group to do things together, working seperately at home is not very good for team work.
u need abilities from ppl of ur group, abilities in programming, graphics design/process, create music/audio effect, design the logic of the program.
And most important, as the topic says, u need a good idea for the game u going to create.
before u try to create a game, u can try moding first.
try to create ur own mod car in GTA, then u will know how many works need to be done for the gamers to create all the cars in the game. and how many more works need to be done for the maps, objects, player/NPC models, the game engine itself, the missions, the logics, etc. -
