whats the point of MMORPGs??

lol, I just realized one thing, even if you are godlike in an MMORPG, it simply means you are as powerful as a regular character in the world
I was playing WOW just now and some orc army invaded our nightelf town. so we fought like hell and they ran away then we chased them down till we met a computer orc sentry warrior and took like 8 of us to bring him down. and he was only a lame regular warrior.
in warcraft 3, u control heros like Illidan, Arthas, etc. but in WOW, you are at most a footmen, or a grunt, even if you are godlike compared to other players -
In Maplestory, its different. People respect if you are a mage at lvl 30. Once you hit lvl 50 the respect wears off...

I guess for MMORPG one main feature that any other console game can provide is that you can get to know more friends than u do real life...and oftenly you get to meet people with the similiar interest...
Ironically, it takes a gamer to have friends playing that same MMORPG game with you... otherwise you lose interest quickly... maybe that's for me, cos when Gunbound and Maple was out initially, I was playing til classes start the next morning... but after a while... I just lost the motivation...
Btw... how's WOW? worth playing? -

Mage totally sux at higher levels... Clerics seem to be the most useful of the lot. -
