Microsoft has done well with the xbox.
As of now, world wide sales of Xbox already exceeded that of the Gamecube.
Not long ago, I read in EGM that microsoft has already started sending out development kits for Xbox2 and the gamemakers are said to be very impressed with the new machine's capablities.
I personally feel that there's a high chance that in the next console war, the xbox2 may be able to eclipse the PS3. -
it may.. but sony will still have a huge slice of the pie due to their huge fanbase..square enix is probably jumping on board to microsoft which will help boost the xbox 2 sales in japan..sony better wake up soon and stop milking their consumers with $ needed for add ons..such as memory cards,multitap,harddrive and problematic ps2..go mircosoft!

the lifespan of a console is about 4 years and it take around 2,3 years for a console to start earning profits.
