well... not sure bout the price... but here's some news. They are not gonna set up a dedicated server here in singapore despite our overwhelming number of players. aka... WOW for us singaporeans will be laggy.

heard that there will be an asian server. up against the japs, taiwanese and blah.
my friends are playing the US version. $107 SGD for the game package not including the monthly fees.
expensive ah~ *waits patiently for asian server* -

my advise is that although the asian servers will be less laggy, but the koreans and chinese will converse in their language, u will feel left out if u are not well-versed in their language....
for WoW, u need teams, soloing won't take u too far

Just a few questions BeEtHoVeN, how many singaporeans are there in the US server and how do you guys find time to play with the rest of the mericans as we live in different time zones?
I play NWN and no matter how many servers I go to, I face the problem of getting up in the middle of the night just to find the right team or the right players awake. -

no matter wat time u log in, u will be able to find ppl to play with u, make more frens if u need .. after all, WOW is all about playing with other people ...
make the first move, and u will be able to make a lot of new frens inside
for NWN, there may be a difference, I have never play before, so i can't judge ... hope it helps u -

Last I heard the game won't be officially launched in SG. the asian servers will be dedicated to the Koreans(yea who else) and the Chinese because they have the biggest market in Asia.
I'd suggest getting the US retail versions from online retail outlets and join up on a US server. The lag isn't all that bad, on Starhub Cable i'm getting an average of 300-500ms latency which is almost negligible when playing.
Plus most of us are english speaking so we'd be a bit more comfortable with US & Aussie players than Koreans.

Ive been playing Wow the moment it launched. I can tell you its a good game but not a perfect.
For example, there's problem of lag and also getting ganked if your playing in pvp servers, etc etc.
I am watching the game's development and see if its worth the $$$ to continue. FYI, its like SGD$25 per mth. -
Actually, 60days game time card is based on the duration of time you play; it's not based on days/months. Let's say if you play world of warcraft for like 3 hours a day. So, 60days of playtime will last about 8months if I'm not wrong. for the part about pvp servers, it is pvp, so u can't really complain -

Actually, All MMORPGs' payment are based like that. I play DAoC too and I paid for 6 months and it lasted for 2 and a half years. For your information, for those who use the prepaid card, 60days prepaid cards last about 6 months average, but, the 30 days free after creating an account will be counted as days/month. So, you better play allot for 30says cuz after 30 days, you will be using your real money to play the game. Not to fret though, a game time card can last pretty long.

I dont want to commit 6 months so long..i'd wait and see how blizzard behaves after getting all the purple loot from us ($$$$$). See if they become SOEish or otherwise.

ummm .... i think u'd better go read ur validity lol! the 60-day timecard is valid for exactly 60 days after it is activated. I know that because I'm playing World of Warcraft for 3 months with a 60days prepaid card. For the collector edition, there is also an additional 10 day guest pass which works as a 2nd CD key, effectively you can create 2 accounts with 1 purchase. hope this clarifies things a lil bit.

- note you 'Account Created' date & 'Game Time Expires' date, it shld be 3 months difference if you activated and pre-paid with a 60 day card.
- it does not say number of hours used etc etc, this isn't a stored value phonecard
- under 'Billing Information' you will also see 'Billing Plan' & 'Status'. If you are currently still on your 1st month, it indicates 'Free Month' as active, hence u have 90 days.
Don't go about confusing people if you don't know what you're talking about
