playing cs online

  i just bought cscz a few days ago but i am not sure how to connect to servers to play online.
  
  i get this list of servers then there's this connection thingy that takes eons to load

  gross. haven't played CS for a very very long time.
  
  let me see. 1st of all, before playing online, u need to filter out all the servers in the world. this will take a very long time considering there are thousands of server in the world. so i think there is a filter option somewhere where u can select the ping aka lag value. try selecting the smallest value so that they will only filter out the closest server around you. after filtering don't forget to save the server u want as your "favourites".
  
  but, i'm not really sure if i'm correct cos i quit CS a long time ago. please correct me if i'm wrong.

  that was exactly what i did the last time..
  now quite fast but the main prob is d/l some files to get it able to play online and when i click on a server ..it gives me product info of different HL2 packages and a whole load of crap
  
  fark, why play online also need so many crap installations. kns, the old CS far easier to use. i no com knowledge also can play. now install all kinds of crap sitll cannot...

  must be STEAM right? hated it. must go through so much trouble aka downloading/patching/updating just to play the game.

  i think these servers have those soundpacks or effects that u have to dl for them to work in-game..
  
  just a question..why didnt u buy HL2 Collectors Edition.. ? i believe it would have included CS:CZ as well ..

  because i was torn between getting CZ, NFSU2 (esp when i couldnt install NFSU 1 due to graphics card being 4 generations behind) and HL2 (didnt know it came with CZ plus i havent checked the min requirements of HL2 and i doubt my com can support)

  Thats coz you need to install the fcuked up steam, register account to play, kan ley chey. If your graphics card can't take nsfu1, don't bother with cscz, source, or nsfu, or even hl2. Stick with cs1.6.

  They're not pro, they use wallhacks, aimbots, ogc hacks, esp, and all sorts of undetectable screen cheats. Just like me.

  oops.. my bad thought the collectors edition included the back-catalog of Valve like the Silver and Gold packages of HL2 offered on Steam.

  not only does the collector edition has CS:Source. the standard edition also has CS:Source.

  CS:Source is not CZ. think of it this way, CS:Source is the same CS but with better graphic.

  You mean was out. CS source is the new engine for folks like us to test it out nicely before they released hl2. If CS source couldn't pass a simple consumer bug test, your hl2 won't be going gold till next june.

  I got my cs all versions thru the torrent network(for free lah of course! :lol. No need steam to play, no need cd key to play online, don't even need to play online even.

  I play lan when got jioed, play bots when I bored, play online with my modified steam when I feel like cheating.

  graphics is nvidia tnr 2 ....dunno how many bloody generations ago
