here's something to ponder....
Are secret societies (hei she hui) essential for a country's socio-economic balance?
SS might not seem rampant in sg but u can't deny their existence......
despite they might fabricate vice and cause certain social discomfort, this industry creates job opportunities and contributes to our economy (in a way) -
SHHHH..... since it is a secret society... shouldn't it be kept secret....

SS is for people to join and create jobs mah.

secret society is form to gather man together and share shollow and fun together
cause the man leave their hometown and come here to work
they miss their home, so it would be great to meet and know someone from the same hometown and take care of each other
nowadays, youngster just join that just to have backing to prevent ppl from beating them up, and disturbing

just they feel comfortable in numbers
just wasting society resourses

i really look down on those ah bengs and lians
why cant they be more mature and think in longer terms??
getting into all sort of trouble and get themselve jail
and hardly get a job in the future
wont that be darker for their future

yeah... SS create lotsa jobs.
if there is a way to take SS away overnight, lotsa mata will lose their job the following day.

SS will cause society to have negitive effect
and u think
if all the ppl in SS had a job in society, wont it be better for the econ
if SS isnt there, government dont need to spend so much tax payer $$ to repaint over walls that the SS had dirty

i dont think the govt is any stupider than the both of us here, at least not u. after all, they are paid better than we do for their jobs.
and if SS is sooooooooooooo damaging, why doesnt the smarter govt just nab every single members and pass down tough laws to ensure that no further SS activities? -

nightclubs is ok for econ, as it will increase the amount of tax being gain by government
brotherls are not ok for singapore, government dont wish to see singapore become the next thailand
as for casino, govenment had laws to keep them off singapore
in singapore,only singapore pools are the one who is legal to gamble
and other than that, its all illegal
and singapore pools is also paying huge amount of tax
so i dont think there is a reason for SS in singapore that they will boost the econ

government had to find the root and remove it once and for all
didnt u heard before a dept in CID call anti SS
they are doing the job
and to stop SS is not easy
SS started in singapore long before we are independ
but singapore had never give up on that
and this kind of war had been all along for years
just that we dont feel it
cause we are not in either side
