Research on Singaporean-Vietnamese Marriages

Hi guys
I'm a student from NUS currently working on my final year project, looking at Singaporean men who have married Vietnamese wives. I am interested to find out:
1. why these Singaporean men choose Vietnamese women (and not other nationality)?
2. why choose overseas brides (studies have shown that older, lower socio-economic class men form the majority) when men are educated, middle income, and middle age - 30s to 40s.
3. how do they interact with the Vietnamese wives on everyday basis.Looking to talk to some of these men and know more about their experiences. All information gathered will be confidential (under NUS).
Anyone know of any relatives, friends, neighbours who are willing to help? I can provide them with more information.

Why choose vietnam?
Cos' foreign bride are nice and down to earth and can cook and can look after hubby and children.
Local? They wont want to stay at home. They prefer to work just like you. Their earning power is the same as you. They dont want any babies.
Local tend to have a very high standard. Eye on top of the head.
How to interfact? Vietnam normally will know a little bit chinese. They learn bit by bit. Sure can communicate.

dun ferget the malaysians want big house and guys with huge black merc ..heard one compare her ex boyfriend to another current boyfriend........but the vietnamese gals are also going the way of the malaysian gals too by being money minded ...greedy and stuff.....pretty soon spore guys would scour the jungles of Cambodia and its far out villages.

They used to have a HUGE post just on the subject on the pros and cons of a Vietnamese wife, how they communicate and what to expect from their families etc.

i fully agree but there are some who still ran away after marrying - either they are badly treated or the family biased against them..some have hubbies or kids already back in Vietnam (so do background checks) etc.
On the whole, majority of the marriages are blissful...
BUT A WORD OF CAUTION - ONCE THEY MIX AROUND WITH SG WOMEN...THATS IT! SG WOMEN HAVE BITCHY VIRUS THAT ARE DEADLY INFECTIOUS AND WILL INFLUENCE THEM TO BE LIKE THEM..ONCE THIS HAPPENS...VIETNAMESE BECOMES ANOTHER SG BITCH

your research should include an understanding of divorce laws as one of the main root causes to the rise of such marriages...most of them have been divorced or singles have been pressured to such last resort due to the side effects of women charter and other over emphasis over women have on Sg men...

the research question is an exploration of a social issue faced by Singapore men....if it is only touching simply on Vietnamese experiences....it is half complete...if i am the supervisor....i may only give a conceded pass
