actually the cultural gap isnt that huge la.
the old people especially the guys like to talk about their NS life also just like singapore.
i think if you are the only son or youngest son in the family you dont need to serve.
not like they cannot afford to lose you anyway.

U sure ? I think they got like.. some serious issues.. like some massive barrier between them. But the guys normally hang with own.. seldom u see them mix with other people.
