  Somewat true... but not totally. I do not deny I make frens wif gals coz I interested in them many times. But I oso do not confirm I see every gal I interested, I make frens with them.

  I suppose for the guys part it's generally true, but I'm not sure about girls. I thought usually they won't take the initiative to make friends with guys, and they won't necessarily become interested in the guys they are friends with.

  define "making friends" first
  
  make friends as in the ahbeng way of "xiao jie, yao zuo peng you mah?"
  
  then that is purely for interest.
  
  there is the other category where friendship is forged through interaction and communication as time goes by.

  Whether it is guys or girls, I'm quite sure there must be some kind of interest in them first before they will want to be friends with the other.
  
  The type and degree of unterest/attraction is probably where the difference lies: Guys don't need a very strong feeling before they act on it. I believe girls require to feel much more before taking the initiative of at all.........

  on the other hand when guys make friends with girls out of friendship, girls think the guys are interested in them.
