read fr devil's post on the asking of a cool down period which shld be short and appropriate but not too long unless a clean breakup is in consideration..
so how long is tt long n how short is short leh?
wat might seems long to mi might be short to the other party.. the emotional hurt felt is true to the heart.. but can the other party feel it? -
last time i was contemplating a break up due to a complicated and bad situation, i asked for a 3day break..but in e end i din break up w my ex...
yes he does feel e tension as much as u do...
usually pple ask for 3days to at most 2weeks..depends on ur lor..cant compare like tat mar..some pple can make decisions and follow thru better, some need more time..
but for e real break up, i din do thru any cool off period. i though long and hard for 1-2mths..and 1st Aug...tat fateful day...tatz e end..i wrote him an email about it..

after a considerable amt of time for which u 'feel' both have simmered down,it's high-time to meet up tgt.if held on for too long,she might feel that u don't like her anymore.there's a possibility that she hasn't cooled down too,in too short a period.
promises may prove useful this time.however,give her the sense of assurance when u say these words of promise to her.but do be aware that such sweet,true words should only be used at appropriate timing and place.touch her with ur sincerity.perhaps this V-day?
lastly,PROVE it with time,for it shows one's true colours.she'll know whether ur speaking the truth or not then.
seriously,there's no specific amount of time period for a girl to cool down.it depends on how deeply hurt she is.but one thing is for sure,guys recover a lot faster than girls do.the time period she takes to recover u'll have to 'feel' for urself(being tgt with her for quite some time gives u a rough sketch,doesn't it?)

What is the reason for Cool down period.
Before anyone could answer your question, they have to find out the root problem and actual reason for the decision to cool down.
If not, it'll be another guessing game.
It's good to zero-in to the possible diagnosis through details of happenings.
Thatis why in AA or DA(this forum)
It is important to provide as much info, for people who really need advices, to help sound out those agonies.
