How to get out of an embarrassing (teased) situation?

  Seeing as this forum is really dying gonna do my part
  
  Okay guys, just wanna ask:
  Picture this: A social setting whereby you're with some girls and guys. Conversations are going round and someone randomly tease a girl about you e.g that you should go out with her afterward etc. But the girl isn't someone you fancy and most certainly you do not want her to get the wrong idea, how do you get out of the situation? That is, while maintaining interests of the other chics and impress them?

  be a gentleman and say she might not be willing and it might be awkward with only the 3 of u going out. and then suggest a group outing instead and see their responses? the attention would be spread out to them.
