Trouble, HELP!

Today just asked a girl for her phone number on the bus and got it.
Shortly after she got off the bus msg'd her with my name and all and said hi.
She returned the gesture and asked me for an intro, saying she was rather shocked at the approach I took.
After a brief intro I tried to be fresh and instead of answering her my hobby i attmpted to provoke response by asking for an intro of herself instead... but from there on i think it pissed her off cos her replies started getting shorter and then dwindling to nothing even though the initial act of getting her number impressed her vastly.
Anyone know what's so wrong with turning the arrow and asking the girl to intro herself b4 you continue with your own intro? Seems fine to me, wonder what's wrong too

I agree with Mc+square, I think you moved too fast.
From a female's perspective, or at least my own opinion, I get turned off when guys are "aggressive". I think the slow and steady approach is more comfortable.
Well, good luck with the salvage exercise or your next encounter. Hopefully, we can all learn from past experiences.

Heh just got my sis to take a look at it, figured they were about the same age so why not?
After reading thru my messages my sis concluded that (above what else has been said here) that i was boring her to death. A lack of texted humour is percieved as a boring personality. So her lack of responses was a hint to (quote) "bug-off".
First thing my sis told me was: You msg'd her more than she msg'd you. Not good la.
Dang, i'm not a text person, you guys might have found out by now, I'm not exactly making anyone laugh on this forum either.. So my next course of action would probably be to pick up some good quotes to reuse with every encounter, on top of the less aggressive standing.
Time to play sweepers instead of 4-3-3 All out attack? =P

PS no, not planning to try to salvage. That lesson i needa learn another day, one theme at a time. I don't exactly wanna mess things up or mess up my reputation cos she lives just a couple of streets away from me. =) -

Why not cut down on sms and ask her out instead?

Yep guys I do intend to get the sms thing over and done with. I'm not excellent on phone either, but I'm much more spontaneous then. It's just that I can't picture myself having a real conversation since I cannot "visualize" her talking to me, i'm a very visual-stimulated (no funny thoughts) person.
I was just thinking maybe 4 standard smses that'd impress her enough to get me a fone call on the same night and stop msg'in her there leaving her wanting more & anticipating my call later on.. What do you guys think? -

Frankly, if you manage to impress a girl - it means you stood out right from the first meeting. Surprise and excitment and anticipation.
You could have called her two days later to ask for a date.
Well. It all depends if you want to have a long term affair / short term.
in AOS - it depends mainly on this two major consideration as well as what is i you want to achieve.
So you have created her interest in you. However SMS busted everything.
On one hand she thought you're special, then during the sms chat. She found out you're just like any other guys. Boredom set in.
There is no restriction on how many SMSes, the main key is to make your point and leave it for another to chat thru.
I think you should start exploring and training your skills.

Okay, wow that really made me consider things from an alternate approach. Didn't though of not spearheading with an SMS and jump straight to callin'... but that does add the overall feel of being 'unique'.
