MRT annoucements and ads: irritating or essential?

and of course, there are these jack neo's ads in singlish which are replayed in every ten minutes interval.
do you find these messages extremely useful or do they get on your nerves? -

not sure about usefulness but in the event that(touch wood) someone leaves a bomb n it explodes, at least we can say SMRT did not ignore the danger.

This topic also reminds me... Once in a while I'll hear some important(?) announcements... But one DAMN STUPID thing is... These 'announcements' made are SO SOFT that people simply can't hear what was said when the train's moving underground... By the time the train stops to a station? I can only hear a "THANK YOU..."
And can see all the people in the train with

cos of the irritating ad....and ironically, playin at the same time, is the ad on speaking in a train....muahahaz u should lower ur volume when tokin on the phone that kind of shit...when it's the stupid ad that forced me to increase my volume.... -

agree. the annoucements not to report suspicions articles is valid and proper, whereas the new series.. well.. before tt they were doing the non stop "pls stand behind the yellow line" and "eating and drinking is not allowed". now this. havent they learnt tt passengers do not like to be reminded constantly of these?Originally posted by Accela:The first is okay, we understand the need for security concerns, fine. It is just a gentle reminder for da safety of everybody including urself.. Later one day if it really happens and SMRT did not play this announcement, y'all will start blaming SMRT for not informing da public and everything.. It's not like it's sooo loud, it just blast in ya face.. I dun think it can even affect da nap ure taking on da train.. Since travelling underground tunnel is way louder than those reminders, so y not just bear with it?
And if Singaporeans stop eating and drinking and keep standing on or over da yellow line, they wouldn't keep playing it over and over again..
Just my thoughts.. And I never hear da Jack Neo one though..
