Going sydney

Will be heading to sydney this saturday.. arrive on sunday..
anyone been there? where must go and where not worth it to go?
i m going there for a conference but have about 2 days in hand to play ard..
should i go climb the harbour bridge even though i heard its quite ex..
where else must go one (besides the opera house), i know got the blue mountains and bondi beach, may give it a miss this time cos going there by myself..
also is it safe to go out alone at nite? -

the bridge climb can be an amazing experience but it's very expensive and u get a cert end of the climb. http://www.brideclimb.com
try the seafood restaurants at darlington wharf and shop the weekend paddington market (sat only from 10am till 4pm). also visit chinatown and skip the char kway teow and laksa. visit bondi beach for one of the coolest beaches around. sydney aquarium also a cool place.
for the country side, visit the scenic blue mountains, west of sydney. there are connecting train from the city to blue mountain but the best experience would be to drive up. car rental easily available there if not u can always join those day tours provided by the local agencies.
up north if u are a wine lover, be sure to visit hunter valley which housed some of the finest aus wineries. u can savour wine and enjoy the scenic view. there's also hot air balloon travel over the wineries but it's much more expensive than the bridge climb. cheaper hot air balloon travel is at cairns. there's also a cheese factory in the area and u could visit and see how cheese are made.
the other country side would be port stephens. a very beautiful bay with beach resorts, nice beaches and it is home of the bottlenose dolphins where u can stand in the waters, get close to the dolphins and feed them.
