People should really need to control their compulsive spending behaviour.

I mean, if you're complaining that you are already spending too much and saving too little, you're living life on the edge. There's nothing to fall on when trouble comes.
And don't bother depending on friends. Somethings the only thing one can do is to help oneself. Friends are just added channels for help. -

i agree with wat sillyme said abt having another acc for saving
every mth when my pay is credited to my POSB acc, i will immediately transfer $300 into my OCBC acc n i wun touch it no matter wat. somemore must give family $300 for daily expenses so gd planning in how the money is spend is very impt else i will surely have to eat grass
by limiting the money in my main POSB acc, i m forcing myself to cut down on buying stuff, or buying only things tat i need...otherwise wait for sale then buy so can save abit
though $300 a mth is not much, slowly accumulate oso got a sense of satisfaction...

I laggi worst....I hv kids....$500 a mth for preschool fees....$300++ a mth on insurance for the kids...and $200++ a mth for the vaccinations etc. If they fall ill...they can wipe out about $500 a month. (No wonder so many young couples don't want to have children....but I still no regrets, my kids just smile at me I happy already...all sacrifices worth it)
Okay back to the topic....Furthermore, there is the power bills, housebills, fuel bills, car loan. Aiyah....when i was in school, i thot when i work i will hv more money...but now i limit myself to spending max $400 a mth....but still manage to save about $300 a month. Yes, keeping in in a separate account does help and when the amt accumulates to a critical value i put in fixed deposit, so I won't spend the money away...I must plan for retirement and I don't want to be a burden to my children. -
