What is that ONE thing that hinders you from joining outings

for people who are interested in making friends and the activities, but has never joined any of the sgforums' outings, what's that one thing thats stopping you?
for regulars who treat such outings as another usual after-work activities, do you still remember the first outing you joined? did you hesitate before participating? if yes, what was it and how did you overcome them?
from the feedbacks i have been getting, the hinder list is as below:
1. shy (2 votes)
2. fear of being left out (2 votes)
3. scared cannot blend in or will be ostracized cos i bery chio and i not bery dao (1 vote)
4. skeptical about meeting ppl from the net esp some evil fishes around.. (1 vote)
5. fear of too big group (1 vote) -

probably being shy is the toughest problem that stops ppl from joining outings...

some ppl i dun like or i dun feel like seeing going...
no mood....

shy....cuz go there nobody i know and nobody knows me....

given that u love making new friends, u came across a thread organising something which you are interested, be it a kopi/dinner session or some sports related activities...
even with such great interest, u decided not to participate.
mentally, what is that one thing that always stops you from attending? -

Fear of being left out, coz got so many old birds, then the new birds go already feel abit out of place. The old birds may flock together as a group and sort of leave out the new. For example, if one old bird starts a common topic that only all the old bird knows about. The new birds will go scratching their heads trying to catch the ball. Thats how they feel left out.
