when u received the 'red bomb', what's yr first reaction? me usually decide how much to give as angbao... for some.. i will try to recall the person's name on the invitation.. like errmmmm...which? the bride or bridegroom is my friend?
for the red packet, how much u guys normally give? does it depend on the 'poshness' of the hotel/restuarant or the 'closeness' of yr relationship wth them?? or very standard wan.. every wedding also give the same amt? some i know depends on fellow friends, if one give $80.. the rest also give $80..
if you are the host/hostess, ie, u are the one inviting...which of the friends will u invite? eg, this friend which is not very close to you invite u to her wedding, so will u invite her back?? -

my mum got this friend..las ttime her dotter get marry @ fullerton hotel..den she go ard telling people..eh u coming a not..if u not coming..den i won't give u invitation...den also tell those who are going..the table duno how much ah..think 1k or wad..then indirectly hint to them that cannot give too little ang bao -

Went fullerton 3 times liao...
When I got red bomb, I think for my poor wallet. Anyway I got invited by both the bride and the groom side before... anyway it make no difference.
How much to give? depends on how close I'm with the person. My biggest ang bao todate is $240 to a close friend. I will see where's the place too. Fullerton cost about $1000+++ a table so I will likely give $100. I try not too let the couple suffer a lost on the ang baos for colleagues, causal friends etc. If familar will add more for the friendship.
If I were to invite those who invited me... I will have to booked the whole sentosa to hold all my guests... cos mostly have kids liao
I will invite those close friends, colleagues (cannot siamz I guess) relative is a must.. but I leave that to my parents. -
