Even as I do welcome such people, I do have my reservations about our country's largely relaxed foreign-import policy. Without them, whose going to do all the saigang? With them, how should be minimise unnecessary cultural influences?

What grates my nerves the most is they can't speak proper English! & the employers don't send them for proper training!
My fren went to 7-11 to buy a pre-paid card. She spent some minutes at the counter repeating 'pre-paid' card to the PRC sales girl.
The salesgirl, with a blank look on her face
,'pee-paid? pee-paid'? (Maybe she wanted to say pee-ah-pee, LOL
)My fren was so pissed that she said out loud, 'this is wat happens when u hire PRCs who can't speak English!'
Half of the people in the queue clapped 4 her!!
Apparently the sentiment is widespread but many won't dare to voice it out openly.

singaporeans, really very pathetic. Please lah, dun you all have the feeling for the poor PRC gal in the counter, she is struggling to make a living here, it is not her fault to be here, she is given a job and leave her hometown to come here, same when i came here from taiwan. If I am there, i would had helped her. If you really want to blame someone, blame the policy of the govt.I understand this poor gal feeling, as I was in such scene too, please lah Singaporeans, have a heart, afterall, we all still live happily and life goes on.

actually PRC gals are nice and easy going if you treat them nicely, they will remember you forever. It just that because we feel kind of invasion result in everything they do will be up to our satisfaction, that i understand is normal human behavor as we are territory creature too. But, we are also Chinese, if the Malays and Indians are not making much noise, why should we...do you want our society to end up with bangash, indians or other ethnic groups, no racial offend here. -

They are indeed very grateful to me for being their employer, we also got aunties dishwasher and cleaners, and whenever these PRC go back china, they will buy back lots of goodies for Sg aunties and cleaners too, and also for me. And I am always welcome in China, me go there free ok, cos they provide me everything. So, you see, not all thing are bad, respect others as other respect unto you.Go outside and greet a singaporean, he/she may call you "Ah Siao", but when you greet a PRC you get greeted back nicely. Same goes to foreigners

Tan, I get what u mean - notice u said 'posted'. Which means u are sent by your company, not on a voluntarily basis. A realistic person would take the effort to learn more about the culture & language of that country he/she's been posted to.Some(not all) of these PRCs who choose to come here voluntarily(knowing they can't speak English) don't even bother to learn more about us & try to acclimatise..& they & their employers expect us to get used to them..
