Yes, i absolutely agree. politicians who enter politics in mind to earn big bucks are not fit to take care of any people in any countries. Public service should top their list. Want to earn big bucks, go into business. LKY has got his focus wrong, a very greedy senile ungrateful old man! It is not right to compare the salary of the ministers with those top management of the corporate world. This is not comparing apple to apple. -

Looking at the problems of unemployment and other malaise in the system, based on the Efficiency Wage Theory, we should increase the salaries of Ministers and top tier civil servants so that they can be more efficient and productive.
If I can be easily succumb to corruption, they will give me more money so that I won't be corrupt.
If only all employers used the same rationale of the PAP government, Singapore will be No.1 country in the world to do business and live.

The detachment of folks from politics is probably the biggest cause of the sad state of affairs in our government.
We are not the least concern about how much anybody makes, but more concern about how much our politicians are extorting from us. Nobody's making noise about how much CEOs, lawyers, doctors or accountants make, but rather the pay of a public servant whose pay has sky rocketed due to their overwhelming absolute power.
When you cease to care about government, government will seize power to exploit the most advantages from it's position.

Hey, don't steal my suggestion.
I have long advocated that ministers' salaries need to be increased so that the country would not be the first asian country to fall into a recession.
