What's all this white crap on the ground? It's... it's... SNOW!!!
Yup, we finally got our first snowfall of the season, all 3" worth. Nothing spectacular really, but enough to make for a pretty messy and slow commute to work this morning. Plus, it highlighted the fact that I may need a new set of tires for my car, as the existing ones are almost down to their treadwear indicators and not providing what I would consider a safe amount of traction on snow.

Perhaps some of the Indian commandos were hoping that their dramatic flair would be noticed by Bollywood talent scouts.

but you do realize that seattle would be the first and nearest metropolitian area in the lower 48 for any ICBMs that, say, north korea would launch ? ...

I'm not worried as long their missiles don't hit any of the Wal*Mart stores or gunshops in the area.

The Bremerton Naval Station is located within the sound, so there will be some submarine traffic in its waters.
If they start being bothersome, I'll just erect a depth charge launcher on the lawn of my waterfront home...

And…..I forgot to mention….
I went shopping for winter jacket at Walmart, bought a vest type with hood & another padded one.
Bought also some socks to sleep in and 3 long sleeve t-shirts for the trip.
There is also 2 sets of gloves, cap & scraf I bought at Target.
I still have my hiking boots, so do you think its enough to venture into Canada too?
vk,You're not going to need all that winter gear if you're only visiting Vancouver, BC. It's only going to be in the 30s and 40s during the time you've indicated you'll be there.

BTW, Meia, any idea where there is a shooting school to train basic shooters in IPSC in a crash course kinda setting? I am thinking just one week full of shooting.
Ooohhh... Seattle. My favourite city in the US. Have you been there before? This might not be the best time of the year to visit, though.
As for IPSC training, almost any gun store or range will be able to point you to a good IPSC training course in the area. If you want to go all out and spend the time and money, take a look at www.FrontSight.com.

And btw, I am feeling strange that I find umbrellas selling in OC California…...I cant remember when it rained?
Ok, will either have to buy and install a humidor or put more wet towels into the room to increase the humidity.
Head over to any of the "big box" stores (Sam's Club, Target, Wal*Fart, etc.) and pick up a portable room humidifier for around $30. Your nose will thank you for it.
By the way, are you planning on hitting any of the shooting ranges in OC?

Nose is too dry, I keep having t dig out dried bits of nose gold with blood bits. Its disgusting, but I cant help it.
I have dried nose goo in the nose and fresh liquid coming out at the same time, cos I have a runny nose.
Are you feeling ill, or is the weather just too dry?If the latter, have you tried placing a portable humidifier in your room?

Christmas is approaching, and I'd like to send some cookies to my brother, who works in Boston.
Does anyone happen to know of any good shop in Boston that sells cookies and takes online, international orders for domestic shipping? Or if there are any other kinds of shops that sells festive food, I don't mind checking them out too!

You can always order the cookies from any online retailer in the US and specify a US delivery address with your Singapore billing address.Take a look at Amazon's selection of Christmas candies here:

this drop in price dramatically only lead u to ask if there was any reason for gasoline price to go as high as $4.70?
Its pay back time.
Payback? Who's paying whom? The oil companies have already made their record billions in net profits when pump prices were through the roof. And they're probably still making obscene profits with current gas prices!
