Bitcomet can restrict upload to 512b/s while download stays at unlimited speed or not? If can, then I change

    • I always set my upload to 8kbps. And one trick is to set yr listening port to anything above 50000. Anything below are usually rather busy…

    • If you use linux like redhat they come with a lot of free open source software that s compatiable with microsoft/Adobe software. Use as a desktop purely for reading email and using word+excel is good.

The bad is that if you need to install some special software to connect to your office system like database running SAP or your company's own in-house software then it will probably not work on linux and you will have a problem. Very Happy

Enterprise users needs are normally more complex than just requiring simple word processers or email clients. If you use for office, there's a high chance that your office will have some kinda system that you need to connect to do some work and that will not work on linux.

If you use for home, the downside is that a lot of your software like games and funny furry thingy will not run on linux.

So wth is linux good for?

I think the best purpose for linux will be to use it in place for something which you will have to pay like mebbe turn it into a printserver, or mail server or a simple network router or dns server or Firewall.

    • Google Desktop
Its just like the search function built into Windows, just that it'll index your files and whenever you do a search on Google, It'll also display files on your computer based on your search criteria.

      Picasa 2
Image managing program. Works very well. It also allows you to do simple image editing. Its like a Windows version of iPhoto, but it does more and better.

      Google Earth
You'll need at least 32mb of video card for this. It allows you to see various locations on Earth. Images are rather clear as well.
