    • not they are not able to produce their own engine. it is because perodua merge wif daihatsu. and daihatsu merge wif toyota. thus , veri simple , toyota = daihatsu = perodua. don believe go and check out perodua myvi, daihatsu sirion and toyota passo. they are the same is onli different country produce them. in fact they looks the same too because they under 1 company, toyota. perodua myvi avaliable in malaysia, daihatsu sirion avaliable in singapore and toyota passo avaliable in japan. the engine are the same. juz lik daihatsu terios and toyota rush. thus kelisa engine can be trusted more than a picanto. power wise kelisa best. pickup can easily beat a 1.6 litre. and morever it is more "tough" than picanto. go and feel their "ceiling". the roof of the kelisa is much more tougher than a picanto. but interior wise, picanto is beta. if u wan a FC good, power good, long lasting, but don mind it small and simple interior, kelisa. if u wan a comfortable interior bigger space but a less trusted engine, picanto is good for u Wink simple, either u choose japan based, or korean based. ur choice. beta is u test drive. u sure can feel a difference between them.

That seems quite bad to me for such a small car. I believe the fc should be better? I'm getting the same fc for a 1.8L

      more tough?
The Kelisa is based on more than a 10 yr old car (Daihatsu Mira)
The Picanto was launched in 2004.
which one do you think is safer?
And how can the pickup beat a 1.6 when the engine is only 55hp?

bro u go check it out as wat i have said is beta. u don say picanto is tough juz becoz it is latest. u go feel the roof the the picanto. it is flimsy. and u go feel the roof the kelisa. the difference is beri big. don come here and tok without taking a look at them. and go test drive if u can. kelisa ya hav a small hp. but when u drive it u noe the different. i am drivin a kelisa now. the pickup is superb. go look at the all specs before u say anything. kelisa is using 3 cyclinder onli. wif 1000cc each of the cyclinder is using 333 cc. where else picanto is using 4 cyclinder wif 1100 cc wif each cyclinder onli using 275cc. the power of each gear is not even stronger than kelisa. somemore rmb tat, kelisa weight onli 700-800kg. and kelisa inbulit a DOHC charger where else a picanto using a SOHC. picanto using SOHC is to help the pickup infront because the pickup without sohc is lik a turtle. but kelisa pickup is already so superb. therefore wif the help of DOHC which is onli activated after u hit 110, goin from 110 to 140+ is a no kick. but rmb picanto don hav. so which engine is more beta? yup picanto release at 2004, but do u think the engine can fight wif a 10 yr ago engine? wif a flimsy top do u think it can withstand the collision? think again.

Laughing and even wif the fullload of 5, kelisa nv show any sign of weak pickup or wat. its still easy. but for picanto... eh...... problems. Laughing i don mean picanto tat bad. but if u don mind the power, then ok lo. everything got pros and cons. one con is kelisa too small.

A flimsy top?Cannot withstand collision? So are you trying to say the Kelisa is safer than the Picanto just because the roof is thicker?
The manual Kelisa weighs 801 kg.
      In the end,the figures don't lie.Kelisa manual 0-100 time is 16.2 sec
Picanto manual 0-100 time is 15.1 sec.

i noe u will quote it from the figures. DO GO TRY OUT THE TEST DRIVE BEFORE U SAY ANYTHING HERE oh my. u acting clever here. i test drive both cars. the different is so FU*KING big. and tat figure do LIE. because kelisa 0-100 arent tat slow. don believe go test drive 1. i got 1 frenz driving a picanto. and it clock 14 sec from 0-100. mine 12. go and check with those who been drivin it and don cock ard here. even picanto is not zhun to tat FIGURE. so y are u boosting ard here? is not how the car does, is how the driver DRIVES. are u sure tat kelisa manual or a picanto manual clock tat 0-100km/hr by reving it hard to 6? or are they juz drive on normal situation by revin it up to 3?

    • My ranking of the lower range (about SGD50,000) compact hatches:
      1. Suzuki Swift (fierce look)
      2. Mazda 2 (it's a Mazda)
      3. Daihatsu Sirion (best fuel economy)
      4. Nissan March (another Jap car)
      5. Chevrolet Aveo (ang moh brand)
      6. Kia Picanto (best value for money)
      7. Perodua Kelisa (cheapest to mod)
      8. Hyundai Getz
      9. Chery QQ (cheapest car)

    • thanks Laughing oxide onli based on readin the brochure. wat wrote inside tat can be decieve. they donnoe write picanto till so good lik the best lik tat. but when u drive, tats different. the best is to test drive and i am sure just the kelisa acceleration will shut him up. Laughing yup i agree picanto interior is much more or even three times nicer than kelisa. but the engine, not trusted. overall, its still a korean car.

      Hi,
All don't need to argue. I am drivng a Picanto. What the rest said is correct. Picanto is slower than Kelisa. I have test drive both car before I commited to my present Picanto. I choose Picanto due to space and vibration. Personally I feel that Kelisa has more vibration and too small.

Have you seen what the m'sians do with their Kelisas? Blows off my normal 1.6L NA back to the stone age. And trust me, though this sounds corny, but the kelisa can actually be modded to look like a Mini Cooper replica with the MINI stripes and kits. Hehe. Way better than those guys trying to make their picanto GTIs.

      Kelisa over peeekantoh any day.

Laughing agree. their kelisa in m'sia is crazy. even the kancil 800cc onli can reach to a speed of 160km/hr. and their acceleration, even my kelisa i drag for full 6rpm i cant even catch. imagine tat...

      http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WAiFrKEAnXQ&mode=related&search=

kelisa is based on Daihatsu Charade and coure. c tat video.. how i wish mine accelerate lik tat. Rolling Eyes
oh ya incase those ppl onli based on the brochure, this video are fair because, skyline is heavily modded.. Laughing
