I decided to start this thread as we have had a few newbies coming in and asking, "What is Club 30?"

A little bit of history : Club 30 was started in Nov 2004, on the birthday of the (ahem!) founder aka Cult Leader (a nickname given by the Bear). The topics and discussions in the existing forums then didn't interest me, and so, I started my very own forums.

Kops21 provided the name, Club 30. Why 30? Simply because the Cult Leader is in her 30's.

Contrary to popular imagination, the '30' in Club 30 DOES NOT refer to the following :

- Waistline of 30'and more... although with our frequent foodie outings, don't be surprised to see quite a few of us attaining or even surpassing that golden 30'!

- Age of 30 and above. I know 'someone' told me that he actually waited until he was 30 years old before he joined in our discussions! (OK, I shall give you a bit of face and not reveal your identity, but you are so darn funny! ) There are members who are in their 30's here, and there are those who are way under that age group, and then there are those who have erm... reached another milestone in terms of age. We do not discriminate against age here.

- IQ of 30 or more (!!!) (This one thanks to si-tella! )

Serious discussions are welcome. In fact, we started with lots of serious topics, but as we grew to know each other through our outings, we started to become more ''bo liao'' (frivolous).

So, if you're new to Club 30, WELCOME!! Come in, participate in our threads, and make yourself known to us.

Club 30 is nothing without its members, aka the Lao Chiao's. (So darn chor lor, that term! ) So, club members, feel free to add in your own ideas about what Club 30 is about!

And oh, be warned, due to the sometimes quite evil nature of Club 30 (we aren't above mud-slinging and name-calling when it comes to some of our members, but you DO know we luv you at the end of the day, no?) , viewer discretion is advised! And, we take no responsibility for any mental / psychological / emotional trauma and disturbances that may arise from participating in our Club activities!

the Bear : "Gluttony shall prevail!" / "Suicide suddenly becomes an option for escape." / "And (insert member's handle) makes a move on (insert another member's handle)." / likes to call self "the decrepit one".

Fatum : "I'm going to forage for breakfast / brunch / lunch / tunch / tea / dinner / snacks."

stellazio : constantly being sprayed on with insecticide because he's aka ka-zua!
