History,

Chang Chen resigned from the cast, came back.
Tony Leung resigned from cast - originally as Zhuge Liang, reaccept the role as Zhou Yu.
Chow Yun Fatt resigned from cast - originally as Zhou Yu, the role when to Tony Leung.
Takeshi KANESHIRO was invited to take up the role as Zhuge Liang.

Pretty disappointed that Chow Yun Fatt is dropped. And Takeshi taking the role of Zhuge Liang. Don't think he can put it off.

I agree Takeshi is not a very good candidate, me feels.
They are altering the characters of all the historical figures.
So let's wait and see.

during the battle of re cliff Ma chao huang zhong were still not serving SHU. And huan Yu, i tihkn he was somewehere guarding a certain place. Sima yi was years after the battle of red cliff and xiahou dun..not sure..I cant wait for this movie! anyway they should have let a middle aged man to paly zhugeliang's role. takeshi is too young to play tt role.

before. as for zhang fei,i'm not so sure too but i think both liu bei's sworn brothers were guarding the shu kingdom. I wonder if they will show how zhugeliang maanged to get 10 000 arrows in a space of three days!

China. Its a 100 plus episodes show i supposed. youtube has a vid where zhugeliang managed to collect 10 000 arrows in the space of three days. There’s no exact date when the show will be released?

According to Han Sanping, veteran producer and the CEO of China Film Group, one of the chief investors in the film, The Battle of Red Cliff currently has too much material to include in a single feature. It will therefore be divided into two episodes, with the first to be released before the 2008 Summer Olympics, and the second only at the end of 2008. Producer Terence Chang confirmed this, saying that the Chinese government views the film as a showcase of Chinese history and wants it released before the Olympic Games

In the Red Cliff Battle - Battle of Chibi, Zhuge Liang was actually in his late twenties.

However, Takeshi is just not the right person for this role. Not convinced that he is able to take up this cast as Zhuge Liang.

zhou yu supposely is a handsome+girlish man, whose outer appearence outshines...

zhang fei + guan yu played only a small part in chibi..
they are only there at the ending where they rounded up cao cao defeated armies under instructions of zhuge.

famous point is where guan yu sets free cao cao at huarong trail, as he feels he is indebted to the latter.

huang zhong, ma chao, sima yi are not involved in chi bi

xiahou was not mentioned in red cliff battle, so i suppose during that time he is sent to guard cities?

Doesn't pull off quite well.

Aaron might come off as one of the candiate, his performance has improved so much. But of cos, these are all in the thoughts of selecting for fill in sake. There isn't any actors who can fit into the Zhou Yu image, at this moment of time.

I'm actually looking forward to Leon Lai's performance as Zhou Yu the other 3K installation.

The down side of taking Zhou Yu's role is, that dude have to speak chinese. So most HK artiste is put off by it.

Still watch the movie, but not expecting much.
