I have this friend, known him since primary school, close to him since sec 3... We quarell alot too... You see, he's very feminine type of guy...
After Os, he took his 6 months private diploma and waited for NS...
He's character is usually listen to others when they talk and be sensitive to how others feel... (some times) and he has a huge ego...
After he joined NS for a few months, he became a little manly... But he became insensitive to others, and is the most self-absorbed person I know... He got into medic and likes to brag about it... My sis is a nursing student, if she wasnt aware of a little information or something that medics know and nurses dont, he would say," that one also you dunno?"..
And when I SMS him, he never reply...
WTF right?
anyways, what's wrong with him? NS can make someone to become an ASS?

Its normal i guess. In NS, the culture is such that if you do anything that is wrong in the eyes of your peers, you will get humiliated. "Tio suan" in army lingo. So it just gets into a person after awhile, and you start to berate people who seem inferior to you without knowing it. And sometimes, you simply want to be alone during the weekends because you have been seeing so many people everyday, you just want to blank out. At least that is my case.
I do get insensitive to other peoples feelings. It is only when somebody told me about it that i realise I am being such an ass. But thankfully I am discharged from service, officially a free man. Wahaha
