    • i understand that some girls would prefer their bf to have a stable career n income but it seems like many sg girls go to the extent of many unreasonable demands and 5Cs etc etc.

Elindra would say she is, and falls into the already married category.

    • Aiya, anywhere will have materialistic girls la..

Don't take a small sample of bad eggs and assume all girls are materialistic.

If they really are materialistic, you don't care about them anyway.

How about it's time for guys to be materialistic for once?Laughing

    • If girls are not being materialists, they are lazy, become plain Janes, getting big in the wrong proposition of their bodies and do not wish to upgrade themselves. Or they are so hard a worker for everbody else except for themselves. Thus are hardly noticed nor valued.

    • Let's be practical. In singapore, love cannot take of your needs and wants, money can. Laughing Let's take for example, your dream home. Sure you can love it all you want, without $$$, you can carry on loving it all you want. Laughing

    • Seriously speaking...

      Materialistic,
There are always a bunch who are.
      They don regret much,
      its who they are.

So what can you say ?
      They are bad ?
Or they just want to have a better survival in singapore's own finacial war ?
Or they just want some smooth journey in live ?
Or they need some things you just can't see.

Don't judge a girl too fast but saying she's materialistic.
She might be attracted to that kind of people.

When a girl have relationship with a flithy rich, ugly but smart guy,
      What do u say ?

With a poor but good looking guy ?
With a good looking filthy rich and smart guy ?

What can we really do if they do ?
Jealousy or envy from either genders ?

      Very Happy Rolling Eyes

*faint* dun put words in my mouth.

i happen to have pretty frens who r not materialistic but shy. they are the ones that would need a guy to OPEN their eyes to see them.

being materialistic crosses gender, race and sexual preferences. but since the topic is about gals, lets stick to it Razz

    • See, it's always about guys asking if girls are being materialistic.

Im looking for a day when there will be same question asked by the opposite sex.

Don't talk about dream home, even public housing (HDB flats) cost a bomb in singapore.

When a guy says, "career is more important, money is more important... etc etc", he is called career minded.

      Nothing is fair.

Exactly! If you can't even provide a roof for your future wife, do you think you can take care of her for life? Laughing Oh wait, love will take care of that. Laughing

Ya, love conquers all. May love conquers hunger and thirst too.
May love make us stronger, so we can withstand the rain, wind and sun. Then we dun need a roof over our head too. Laughing

Will there be a day the girl will say: "All he cares about is what kind of house I live in or whether I have a Ferrari at home or whether I have 5Cs. Does he like me for my money or me?" ?

This is the same as guys saying the above.

Ya nothing is fair. If everything is fair, no one will work hard to achieve what they want or anything. Perhaps materialistic girls are needed to push guys to work hard to and achieve something in life.

But then again, isn't getting a career is for yourself and not for the sake of impressing the opposite sex?
